You’re not wrong. But then again, is it possible to pull an Elway these days?

I agree, going early is the way to go 100% of the time if you are a sure first rounder...but..and I do say but...Adam Gase would ruin the highest graded qb prospect in history and do irreversible damage to the point that he is a career backup. If the Jets take him, he has to demand a trade. It doesn't matter how much they throw at him.

How is Gase still the coach next year?

He won't be. But the Jets will still be the Jets.

A rookie contract is 4 yrs? That's plenty of time for the Jets to ruin his career.

I like consistency in an organization.

See: last 20 years for the Browns.

Not the highest rated QB, but I'm always reminded of David Carr in these situations. Poor guy never had a chance.
It makes perfect sense...until you think about it.

I suspect there's logic behind the madness, but I'm too dumb to see it.

TL will stay at Clemson another year and the Jests will reply with 0-16 (or 17) in 2021.

Gase will be gone, and the Jets have quite a bit of draft currency to rebuild.
With Eric Bienemy, Brian Daboll or Joe Brady at the helm, Lawrence will be fine.
If he goes to the Jets, he starts day 1. The days of QBs sitting for a year plus are done.

Jests have the worst pass protection in the LEAGUE. They need to trade draft picks or go on a buying spree in the free agent market for O linemen because piling up rook blockers in front of a rook QB will be good for keystone cops videos on sports center and a ruined QB like Josh Rosen.

Edelshit is out this w/e. If the Bills can't beat the Patriots now there's no hope.

The road to the AFC Championship goes through Lake Erie. I believe.

To follow up on the MLB thread’s kudos of Fox bumper music, surprised to hear moe’s “Happy Hour Hero” on Thursday Night Football.

I heard some of the Meters Cissy Strut on the broadcast, too.

Chris Jones on the Jets: "That's a very good football team. People forget that because they haven't won a game.''

It's the polite thing to say when your team is a 21 point overdog?

It's like it used to be when Belichick said this stuff then crushed the other team like a grape on Sun.

    Speaking of polite.

Yesterday while subjecting myself to sports talk radio I heard Brown's HC Kevin Stefanski referred to as "the polite Bill Belichick" after his press conference.

Maybe he doesn't have Aspergers like Bill?

Speaking of sports talk radio, we apparently missed a good Jerry Jones interview this week.

They replayed the highlights on my preferred sports talk station. Was fantastic.
