182cm, flex 3, enduro core w/carbon laminate, oak veneer. Per my Escali kitchen scale, they weigh 1987g a piece.

Next to them are my skinny Q's, which are 181cm, flex 3, heavy core w/carbon, cherry veneer. Mounted with G3 Ion's with brakes and ski crampon dongle, they come in at 2544g and 2550g, so about 1850-1900g per ski. I didn't weigh the skinny pair before mounting them.

Looking for a recommendation for a friend. He is 5'8, 155lbs athletic, good skier but not that aggressive. Skis blacks and steeps but isn't looking to drop 20 foot cliffs. He currently skis the soul 7 (ya ya i know) and likes it for light and fluffy days but he feels he gets tossed around too much in the chop in the afternoon/next day and also does fine in groomers. We ski a lot of trees (looking for something that pivots well at lower speed) and some low angle. He demoed the Atomic Vantage 107 TI and liked it cause of how much beefier it was compared to the soul 7.

I'd love to recommended a Praxis ski for him to support a great company, plus the sale they have going on (40% off btw) is a pretty unbeatable value. Any Praxis recommendations?

Quandary, the 9D8s are fun, predictable skis and those specs are right on for their purpose.

Damn, the cherry veneer is slick.

If he's looking for a soft snow ski the GPO is a great choice.

    Sorry I couldn't resist .

Yours are making me reconsider my choice. Love the clean look.

So many nice looking praxis skis.

    I second the GPO.

(Can actually rail on hard pack better than any 116 waist ski that I know of...)
Common sense. So rare today in America it's almost like having a superpower.

The GPO is really fun when you tip it over and it definitely can hold an edge on hard snow. But I say that in that waste class the OG Bodacious is a better at railing turns on firm snow.

    OK, ok.

But can it rail one minute and pivot/slarve/slice/dice all in the same run?

MVP might be a good option. I haven't been on that ski yet, but have a new pair waiting to be drilled.

IMO there's not really any skis in the Praxis lineup aside from the 9D8 that are similar to those skis you listed. GPO or RX could be options but might be a little wide for a DD depending on his preferences. The MVP is a great all mountain ski but I feel like it requires a bit more skier input than the Soul 7 or Atomic due to their relatively short radius compared to the MVP.

I own the Ski, basically a -1 RX, and it ticks all those boxes IMO.

It can pivot/slarve/carve 8n a single run but it definitely doesn't slice 'n dice like the GPO...

Good point on radius, wasn't familiar with the Atomic Vantage. Sounds like about time that he mans up!

Ended up recommending the GPO and then stumbled on a deal on some woodsman 108s which I feel like is unheard of so pulled the trigger. Thanks for all the recommendations.

    thread killa, lol

I haven't skied the woodsman, only the kartel and steeple. But that should be a very solid choice and will allow him to up his game from the soul 7 sure.

Yeah, but if it was $250 I would have jumped on it too. Have no idea what was paid obviously, do you? And besides, who the fuck cares except the one brand only fanboys. I have 3 Praxis in my quiver, but I have other brands too.
