Missed this first time around. I hunt hogs with a Mossberg 500 18" barrel. Slugs and 00 every other. Slug for taking them down and 00 for when we are walking. The 00 will stop them quick. The G40 would be a last resort to stop one, and also to finish the job. Apparently I need to carry about 3 other guns too, according to those videos. How many hands does that guy have?
Thinking about buying a pistol. Never owned one. Ruger GP100 is piquing my interest. Thoughts from the learned ones please.

Classic durable dependable revolver. Lots of semi-auto caliber talk but .357 holds up. If a fair price, it’s a great sidearm.
Agreed. Wheel guns are a great place to start. I still own my first, a 6" Taurus .357. Its dependable, predictable and survived multiple dunkings in AK.
"All God does is watch us and kill us when we get boring. We must never, ever be boring."
GP100 are solid. 357 mag is a great caliber, practice with 38 special loads to get used to recoil if you're a newish shooter.
As I was saying in my first post...
See... You've learned something here. Always happy to help people learn how to properly handle firearms.“So, we clear our weapons, we drop the hammer, and once you drop the hammer on the weapon, it won't go on safe. That way I know if I pick a weapon up in the middle of the night, and I try to manipulate the safety on it, if it goes on safe I'm not quite sure whether it's loaded or not. But if it won't go on safe, I know that gun's clear. The only way you can manipulate the safety is if that weapon is cocked.”
In that scene, although Hoot had a full magazine inserted into his weapon and it was set to "fire," he would be unable to discharge his rifle without first racking the bolt. In a sense, it was a different kind of safety mechanism.
Imagine someone posting pictures that were meant to trigger the "experts"...

Shut the fuck up and safe your fucking weapon before you take pics for the internet, asshole.
I inherited a beautiful Ruger 6” Security Six 357. Amazingly solid and accurate.
Carry on with your gunfaggotry.

You fuckin' asshole! Everything's a fuckin' travesty with you, man! And what was all that shit about Vietnam? What the fuck has anything got to do with Vietnam?
I'm not telling BS to load his footshooter. I'm just telling him he shouldn't photoplay with loaded unsafed weapons in his momma's house, and post it on the internet.
And what exactly is wrong with BS silently dropping his loaded Guccimag, racking the exquisitely machined bolt of his elite rifle, engaging the safety, and smoothly inserting an unloaded Guccimag into that waiting orifice before pimpposting still lifes here on TGR?
Stolen valor BS stories about carrying like a big D-boy have been recorded in the log.
