Nice UC Roadie.
I'm digging these upstate flexes - wow, road biking, so amazing.

I see two cranks there. The whole setup looks early 90's with the bar ends and 26's so I'm guessing 130mm w/ square drive?
Hold on. This isn't the Covid thread where you just make up numbers. Come back when you have some real figures on this and cite credible sources.

I’m satisfied.
Speaking of 90s crank, I sold my 1994 GT Avalanche that was in pristine condition a couple years ago and I still regret it.
I still call it The Jake.
That's the same way I feel about my '90 M3.![]()

I think it's fair to say that the Adirondacks are far superior to the Green Mountains in Vermont.
I'll leave the White Mountain circle jerk to Rog and Buttah.
Looks more like a Kim.
Karen at rest.
Yes, much nicer mountains east and west of the Greens. Go to those other places with your covids.
High Peaks zone is loaded with amazing routes, many of which are steep and muddy AF.
If I had to pick a favorite, the trek from the Loj -> Lake Colden -> Lake Tear of the Clouds -> Skylight might be it.
5 - 6.5 hour drives from WNY & ROC do suck though.
I was just reading about Old-Growth forests in the East and there's a good-sized one on/near Ampersand, that would be cool to check out. Interestingly (to me, at least) there is also some old-growth forest in the Bronx Botanical Gardens, that's a big reason the Gardens are where they are, they bought the land in part because the forest was on it. https://www.nybg.org/garden/forest/
Lack of shoulders on secondary roads is pretty common on my side of the lake.

Well that's true here as well but the traffic levels on those roads are so low it doesn't really matter. I can get on some town roads here and not see a single car for miles at a time. The riding here is as safe as I think anyone can reasonably expect. Again, just stay off the state highways - even though they tend to have wide shoulders. It's not even that the State highways are unsafe; it's just that I'm spoiled and hate sharing the roads I ride with car traffic. Compared to anything I rode when I lived in the Albany area, they're virtually bike paths.

I guess the Post thinks Rockland County is upstate. Palisades is the southeast corner of the county, practically NJ

Recently took a week tour from Maine over to Old Forge, LP and back. Hadn’t been in decades. Forgot how absolutely beautiful it is around LP
yeah, it’s called upstate. not “western” ny, wherever that is.
