Duly noted. However, this particular issue feels a bit like what would happen if Alta ever put a lift up Flagstaff and turned all the terrain off Emma Ridge into lift accessed sidecountry. Yeah, that would generate some bitching.

Shit, the mere mention of that lift every fall leads to hundreds of underwear-bunching incidents. If it actually happened there would be mobs of bc skiers with torches and pitchfork walking around Alta. The bitching about BlackForest doesn't even register in that context.
Wonder if the center rut can possibly get deep enough that it will lead to pedal strikes on the side. That would be some legendary shit but I have faith it could be done.

I wish I had those on for the douchenozzle I ran into this morning. I came up behind him and his buddy and asked to pass, buddy pulled over right away. Then the guy in front gets on the gas (we are climbing). After about 2 minutes goes by, in which I asked again to pass, he says "you can pass whenever you want, but I'm not stopping." Debated shouldering him into the side of the trail, but took a deep breath and eventually he did in fact stop.

Put about 5 minutes on him for the rest of the climb, wonder if that bruised his ego at all?

And yeah, it was super nice out this morning. Bikes take you to some cool places.

got out over the weekend with my 9 year old neice and 70 something year old dad. it was rad





and now for just a little bitching. rode insurgent over the weekend and the huge tree that's been blocking the rock roll is still there. do you think I need to hit up Mtn Trails or Basin Rec to get them to clean that up? I'm pretty sure vail ain't going to do anything about it and its way too big for a hand saw..... I think its been down on the trail since late last summer, there's also a pretty big widowmaker hanging over ricochet that seemed a little sketchy.

Lower Snowbird, White Pine, Hobo, Tanners, Cool Way, Flanders, Quarry were great today. 1 snow field near the bridge.

This afternoon we climbed across Solitude, up Old Stage, Dry Heave, Puke Hill, across Crest and down Bear Trap. Was also excellent.

Damn, proud hucks, I walked the majority of those on my first go at that trail, it felt way above my pay grade. Still does actually...

Temps and dirt have been shockingly great these past few days for sure, I even got cold finishing my ride on Shoreline last night! The only downside of cool temps and lots of moisture is how fast the grass and brush are growing. I rode Lost Lad yesterday and couldn't see the trail for most of the lower half, 4' tall grass on both sides was leaning in just enough that I was riding completely blind. I cratered on a couple of the doubles that I never saw coming and hit too slow or completely off axis then I clipped a pedal on a rock I had no chance of spotting. Hit the deck 3x in under a mile, good times...

Bear trap has been cleaned. Not by me, I took my saw with me today but there were no trees left to remove. The top of that trail is in tough shape but damn its so good once you get down into the woods. Hard one on the hard tail.

Hit gold bar and portal today. Saw one other rider. Saw desert big horns and the trail is in the best shape I’ve ever seen it. Don’t know if it the rain, or the fact that no one is riding there?
One new (to me at least) rock fall on Portal. I would love to see someone ride that. I couldn’t see a line.

He's the mayor of mountain biking and trail clearing around here. He also took care of Little Emigration (chainsaw work) this year, along with a whole bunch more he hasn't said anything about.

Muted, got that exact same view from Olympic a few days ago, such a pleasant trail after the Yeti grind! I was looking intently at the ridgeline and bowl in the background thinking it would make for great skiing, took me a minute to realize I had indeed skied it before. It's strange how my knowledge of the terrain in the Wasatch is completely dependent on seasons, there are places I've been 20x in the winter that I absolutely can't recognize in the summer because the approach is completely different.

Bit of thread wander with this post, but does anyone know if any local bike shops sell North Shore racks? They are sold out on the NS website and I'd like to get one soon.
