See this beautiful Sour Tsunami mocha? Oh so hot and yummy looking isn't it? Well this morning it tastes like hot water to me and that's annoying. Zero sense of taste today. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr. Going to drink it anyway but again... no flavor what-so-ever.

Funny thing is I can smell a wildfire burning somewhere outside just can't taste anything.

Nah...happens all the time. Mostly likely due to using too much Clorox spray cleaning the shower yesterday. Kinda singed my nose. Should have worn a mask. My fault but still annoying.

Good God, woman - if you're using enough bleach to singe your inner nostrils your eyes and lungs will be damaged as well. At the very least get as much ventilation as possible going in the shower and dilute to less than 1% (assuming you're using standard 5.25% bleach, not concentrated?). Seriously, you risk long term lung scaring if you're not careful.

LOL!!! I was using a pre-mixed product. Yeah should have sprayed and walked away for a moment. On the farm, there are WAY worse things I inhale. Also, I have long standing sinus issues from childhood. Like I said, I often lose my sense of smell/taste. Kinda comes and goes.

Given my history with this problem and the low number of cases in our county (7 active in the entire county) I think that would be a waste of resources at this point esp. when you add in my isolation out here on the farm and diligent mask wearing, social distancing and hand sanatizer/washing.

Sorry guys.... I was just annoyed that the mocha I was so looking forward to this morning fell flat because my Anosmia had reared its ugly head once again. As I said, I'm no stranger to Anosmia.

Yanno.... Anosmia is also a sign of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases or just being old as dirt.

I was reading recently that advised against Clorox for mold, which is the main thing you're attacking when you clean the shower. Dilute distilled vinegar was the recommendation. Or if you really want to go to town, spray the vinegar then scrub with baking soda. I can't give you a source but it was an easy google find. (Shows you how bored I've been with the pandemic--I didn't just scrub the shower, I partially regrouted it. Desperate times call for desperate measures.)

My son graduated from UCSC yesterday and we couldn't be there to celebrate with him. Small in the grand scheme of things but nonetheless annoying.

    Sucks,

We're kind of in a similar boat with our son who just graduated from hs with a bunch of honors, but we can't really do anything except make food at home.

That is even worse. All the HS seniors are getting hit on both sides. Screwed on graduation and then their freshman start...if it even happens for some.

Every once in a while I like to mix it up but remember Sour Tsunami is a high CBD oil. This particular batch is 10:1 though I might have gotten a little heavy handed with how much I stirred in yesterday. I will admit despite not being able to taste it I had a very nice even keel day. Sour Tsunami is the bomb.

Oh and BTW - taste is back today. Yay! Kinda the way it goes with me and my messed up sinuses regardless of whether or not I've been spritzing myself with Clorox but for all I know it could have been something on the wind like pollen or dust/dirt full of herbicides/pesticides who knows what. Been very windy here.

OG: Yeah.. I use vinegar for other things. Happened to grab the Clorox that day.

    X2 on social isolated graduation.

My daughter found out today that UNB Freddy is deciding who gets to be on campus based on course, need fir lab, etc. All of her fall classes are online only. Sucks for her 4th year when in person contact is crucial to future work or study. She is not sure about winter semester yet. She may have to move to Fredericton in winter. Fortunately her summer job is in the field in her field and it's a small enough community that they all know each other.

Yup. He wants to forge ahead with trying to start college this coming fall. I think he should do a gap year, but I let him make his own decisions about his life. Normally in a gap year, one travels or works but none of that is really available this year.

A great thing is that he knows his woes are chickenshit compared to what a lot of people are going through with unemployment and illness, so he's got good heart with a good head.

My kid graduated from residency. They had a dinner ceremony which normally families and all the residents can go to and get a very nice free dinner. They still had the dinner but only the graduates and one guest can attend, they only had chicken because the hospital budget is in the toilet from no elective surgery, and the zoom feed crashed just as my son was going to speak and came back on just after he finished. I'm mainly pissed about not getting a free dinner.

My other kid is "graduating" from the research part of his residency--3 years in his case. To me this is like graduating from kindergarten but we'll watch anyway. At least to see if Boston is any better at tech than Sacramento.

No, I totally agree and that's why my last sentence in my post is what it is.

We all have individual hardships and heartaches in our world, but for the most part my personal world is pretty damn good, but I hate a lot about our country right now. Vote.

People have gone nuts with the vinegar use here. It's one of the few items still limited to "one per customer" for the gallon size in our local stores. Could be cleaning but also could be people making sure they have it for pickling this Fall. I know some use it to kill weeds. I put it in my laundry.
