yeah - my oldest is in the same place she was - a graduating senior. he is happy and successful and she is no more.

Eventually you reach a point where you can't physically cry anymore, so you stop. It feels weird not to be crying at first, but then you get hungry or feel like you need a shower, so for a little while you eat or do some other basic thing it takes to keep on living. Then the tears hit you like a freight train and you start all over. The periods between crying ever so slowly get longer. It's been almost eight years, I still miss my baby girl so much.

My wife's daughter killed herself at 15 years old.

Edit: meh, I had a bunch of words, but there are no words. She's unimaginably strong and it's unimaginably heavy.

With regards to these situations it was helpful to talk about it and realize how many people had had the same experiences that we had. If I learned nothing else it's to be honest about these situations because it could help someone else who is struggling.

oh fuck dude. 100%. One of my best friend's daughter died in a super-random car crash at 18. Freshman in college. Four people in the car, she was the only one that even got seriously hurt. Spectacular absolutely beautiful girl. A wild spirit. A completely free person, she was up for and open to anything. She was in the front seat and had just unbuckled her seat belt to turn around and talk to the people in back. Got thrown out the window and the car rolled over her.

I seriously don't think I could survive that. I would not live long. How he -they- have is beyond me. I'm about to cry just thinking about it.

Other kids can be so hateful and that stuff needs to be kept in check before the kid melts down. So glad I missed that. Teen years were hard enough.
