What with the economic hardships many will be experiencing by winter 2020/21 I do not expect to see a whole lot of ski tourism.

As for the Bathrooms, I can shit at home and piss in the woods.

Ski areas that are removed from a population base will survive or not with their local clientele.
I have been in this State for 30 years and I am willing to admit that I am part of the problem.

He will not catch this virus and he will not die. People like him, and I've personally known a few, never have anything stick to them. They can do what they want and come out smelling like a rose every time. I've never understood it except to say that it is proof there is no God and that evil does exist.

    Meanwhile in W2:

    Downtown protestors demand economic reopening

The rally began with about 75 people and steadily grew for about an hour. People showing up were all smiles, if they weren’t wearing masks, and shook hands and hugged each other.

One flag representing the Three Percenters, a right wing political activist group, was at the rally.

One sign read, “Recall King Inslee.”

Another read, “HONK if you need a haircut.” Dozens of cars going by waved, honked or revved engines.

Another sign read, “Essential AF” and featured logos for McDonald’s and Starbucks and marijuana leaves.

One of the protestors took advantage of the sunshine and warm May air to take off his shirt. The masked man had written in permanent marker on his chest “Dr. Fauci sent $$$ to Wuhan.” On his back was written “Get Vitamin D, not COVID-19.”

Yeah, Epic and Ikon may have to slash pass prices further and further to get people to bite. Or maybe they’ll just close when there’s no revenue from tourism (Xmas could be a clusterfuck) and locals will just tour the resorts?

Isn't it a shame that our cultural legacy and societal present have diverged so negatively? I understand our history has some terrible, terrible periods and criminal unfairness but there was a time when American ways were exceptional and exciting. We've even lost the ability to say "hey those people over there are doing something good/interesting - let's put or spin on it and do it better!". Even worse, we cannot claim that it's merely corrupt and disconnected leadership - I submit: there's a cultural cancer running through the common man that is even worse.

That thought crossed my mind, too! One of those things I could deal with because it's a small burden to carry and I never poop during the day! but I know is a terrible idea, not because it's a terrible idea, but because people would never go for it. weenies. fine. we can just not ski then.

So ski areas instead of ski resorts. Washington is already ahead for once!

Can’t remember the last time I used a lodge. I like to drink and eat in the parking lot.

Nah, you just live in the wrong place. It ain't all like that in America.

Just got back from Costco and large grocery store here in Westchester County (NYC burbs). 100% mask compliance and many with gloves. You were getting nowhere inside the stores without a mask and probably arrested if you tried to.
I suspect if you didn't have a mask a mob of shoppers would have descended on you and kicked your @ass. No messing around here and no one gives a fuck about "'yur freedomz!" in these parts.

Yep mask compliance all the places I've been in orange cty NY. Some have a slight issue with following arrows, but it's all new. I'm very used to zipping all over the grocery and being forgetful. Sure makes ya think more.

I've always liked New York. Everybody honks out their aggression and present as assholes but then they aren't really and many are sensible and wordly. Opposite is somewhere like central Florida. People seem nice but they are mostly insular kooks with foil hats.

Could it have something to do with the number of deaths in New Yawk that they believe they should take covid seriously ??

Just back from Home Depot. <10% masks, everyone crowding in and around you. Families wandering around like they had never been to the Big City before. Grocery store was a bit better.

I'm sure it's that. Around these parts I doubt anyone knows a person who has had it let alone died from it. Couple that with being a red county and you get deniers and naysayers. I feel like one of the few who "believe." Talking to a friend the other day I mentioned my experience at the feed store where I was the only one with a mask among a throng of people. Her voice dropped and sounded sad as she said "I know. I wore a mask there too and was the only one." It's hard being alone in this fight.

It’s sad that these idiots can’t take obviously warnings from China, Italy, Spain and NYC and instead won’t change their behavior until it’s too late and hospitals in their communities are overflowing.

Very much so. Everyone knows at least someone who has had it. I can name at least 7 people I know on a first name basis who have had it including my wife's cousin and his fiance' who are battling it right now. Even for the younger/healthier people it still knocks you on your ass hard; I can't imagine how someone over the age of 75 would survive it.

I'm sure most of us in these parts have had it, but varying degrees of symptoms.
