Equipment guys up north would get old surplus parachutes, drape them over their big iron, stake it down, and have a port to put in a big propane heater/blower. -40C outside, and +10 or more under that chute. Other than UV or wind issues, seems like a great northern pool addition.

I was more thinking backyard swimming pool. Seattle area you essentially get July and August where it’s really hot enough for outdoor swimming. A bubble would give you June and most of September.

I was April- October in Chicago, with liberal use of a NG heater.


The dome would be nice in the fall, when the leaves start falling. But I bet it would be stifling hot, much of the summer.

No heater, just a ghetto above ground. It’d be like a sauna in there mid summer.

This was all a pipe dream anyway.

Got a summer job in college at a corn mill that had one of those - pretty slick.

Job however wasn't...shoveling spilled corn from ductwork for 8hrs is back breaking....didn't even bother quitting. Worked one night and didn't show up the next. Was surprised that they mailed me my one day's paycheck a couple weeks later....I wrote it off as experience.

I’m aware of one of these in a parking garage in midtown Manhattan (Meyers Parking on 35th b/w 5th & 6th). Except, that one moves a lot faster than the one in this demo video. I don’t see how something like this is osha approved... but it looked fun!
