what amazes me is that almost everywhere has been touched in some manner

and it is entirely reasonable to assume the "no data" zones may also have already been affected, just not yet quantified

It's abundantly clear that the entire country would look like NYC by now without social distancing. We're going to hit 100k deaths by June even with the drastic measures we've taken. The predictions of 1M+ deaths under a "do nothing" approach look entirely plausible.

it's not a hoax but you might be crazy.

been going to same grocery store for years and twice a week for past 6 weeks, so I know who the staff is. not one person who works regularly has been missing and most haven't been wearing masks.

over 85% gets no symptoms and is not affected and if you look at the bing corona virus map; it has been everywhere in the lower 48. only reasons to go full hazmat gear is if you are over 60 or have other health issues.

NYTimes has a story on the great Swedish experiment:
    https://www.nytimes.com/2020/04/28/w...-immunity.html

I think it's pretty interesting. Swedes have been able to continue living their lives without massive changes and the country has not been devastated.

it's amazing how many internet scholars are out there shouting

    - greedy hospitals and doctors are just labeling everything as covid so they get more money!

followed by the same people saying

    - look everyone! here are two doctors whose income has gone down dramatically in their high rent California urgent care center - they say this has all been overblown and we need to open up again - thank you oh ethical doctors!

Don't you see the problem here? Your conclusion is that this is no big deal based on anecdotal evidence that you aren't seeing a lot of sick people. However, since most are asymptomatic you are seeing infected people that you don't even realize are infected and these people are unwittingly passing the virus to others. Sheer numbers mean the more people passing on the virus are going to cause more people to be seriously ill even if you aren't seeing them first hand. I really don't understand what is difficult to grasp about this concept. Go to a major hospital and I bet you'd change your tune on this being overblown.

Sweden says more than 26 percent (598,000) of the 2.3 million inhabitants of Stockholm County will have been infected by May 1.

I've read numerous fluff pieces of journalism repeating the above claims but still don't understand how they come to this conclusion. I am not aware of any serology tests coming out of Stockholm. So not sure how Sweden can continue to repeat this claim without explaining their reasons for this conclusion.
