The bald lie regarding contemporary Republican platform benefitting the average Joe has been peeling for a while.

Glad to seen more cloaks fall.

I doubt it. Language is his forte.

I read Frum's musings today. I also think he is premature. Things always look rosy for sanity seekers after orange man missteps until the right wing propaganda machine spins so much bullshit their followers get confused and go back to defense of dear leader temple worship. The sophists are smart and always playing the long game. Never in a hurry with the messaging, knowing factual memories are short plays. Give it another couple days. You'll see the whole fiasco turned on its head, spun up and thrown back at your hopeful face by people you know and used to think were decent.

gotta be "fake news" but its supposedly from the CDC.

    cant figure it out.

you figure with the bat virus and normal health issues, it would be up big. sure, they count some cancers as bat virus because they tested positive. my wild ass guess is there's lots of cacner and heart disease patients being strung along rather than be aggressively treated as they do not have the staff and time with the rat virus patients. if not then a whole lotta of bat virus deaths were cancer and heart disease deaths that got tagged as bat virus.

An irony of the coronavirus debate is that the more successful lockdowns are in squelching the disease, the more vulnerable they will be to attack as unnecessary in the first place.

I know nothing of this man. But are you are suggesting that it's surprising that a competent individual with relevant experience has not been added to the pandemic team? Cause if so, yeah. I think you might be the only one wondering that.

I’ve been getting bombarded w it by my retardo acquaintances in Bako (where these dicks are based) as well.

I honestly can’t watch through the entire thing, but the gist is their Urgent Care biz (entrepreneurs!) accounts for about half the testing in the area. ~ 5000 cases. I think there are about 8 deaths in Kern county. They take away (based on data! Because they studied epidemiology!) is that it’s similar in mortality to the flu and it’s time to get back to work!

I think Summit answered my question about how best to beat down these morons w the three bullet points about the hundreds of healthcare workers that have died from covid and when did the flu ever do that? It’s a couple pages back - it’s more virulent, affects more age groups, and more deadly.

And of course it takes a special mindset to suggest fewer deaths is actually a bad thing.

There's a shorter version of this piece in today's Times print edition on page 3: https://www.nytimes.com/2020/04/20/o...pneumonia.html

Clifs notes version: the pneumonia that can develop with this virus is atypical. It doesn't cause the lungs to fill up with fluid at first. With this virus, people frequently have pneumonia and don't know it. By the time typical pneumonia symptoms present, the patients are already pretty far gone, often require intubation, but still frequently die anyways. Earlier treatment would avoid many/most intubations and save lives.

An effective way to check your lung capacity/efficiency/health is by checking your blood oxidation levels. Do this frequently when you are sick. Pulse oximeters are simple, cheap and effective for this. They're for sale on Amazon. It might take a while for one to come but at least it will be on its way. Get one and if you start having covid symptoms begin checking your blood oxidation regularly. If it starts to drop substantially, get to the hospital.

Add to that longer hospital stays, inexplicably causing strokes and heart failure in young healthy people, along with survivors of severe COVID facing PTSD, cognitive decline, and chronic health issues.

The odds are also worse than they appear. Because it's even more rare than the flu for people under age 20 to see adverse effects the risk rises to about ten times higher for people the further they are past the legal drinking age even though the overall population risk might not look as large.

If a person approaches 0.5% fatality risk because of age or commodities then COVID is like rolling three dice and seeing three 6s, then you die.

    Proof: 1/6 x 1/6 x 1/6 = 0.5%
