We're "ok" for now. It's funny, I was going to post this in the getting shit done thread. I know a lot of people are cleaning or doing projects like they've never done before. In our house it's the opposite. We can't seem to get out of our own way. Nobody is getting much done. Anyone else?

We were talking about that yesterday. Our house is a cluttered mess, and none of us has any desire to do anything about it, which is especially unusual for me. We're getting outside, watching movies together, playing games, but really only doing the minimum to keep the house up.

I've been on top of the garden like never before, but I think that's driven by the desire to have uncontaminated produce.
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

The only thing getting done 'round here is laundry and cooking/baking. All that other shit can wait...

Between switching back and forth trying to get work done and entertaining the young kids, I haven't gotten fuck all done. Way worse than usual.

Heh, yes. Thankfully we have a well for irrigation, or all that grass would be dirt and gravel.....

My covers been off for a month. Water is still 50 degrees. But it looks nice.
I always open early. Covers are depressing once the snow is gone

Vibes to you and yours Riser, it'll get better at some point....Maybe start with something small? We started by saying 'we're gonna pull some weeds today', and it just kinda progressed from there.....YMMV.

The homeschooling, trying to maintain normalcy doing work while simultaneously trying to shut out the people freaking the fuck out (from work and otherwise) while dreading each Monday morning zoom call, and boozing harder than normal took its toll on me this week and my patience and temper felt pretty fucking frayed. Walking, biking and keeping active more than normal, connecting with so many people I haven’t spoken to in years and having a great time doing it, drives and good music, the sunny warm weather and of course my family being with me have all helped. I’d be lost without all that. Still, I’m fucking spent. We say it in so many other threads and I’m sure it’s been said 100 times in this one, ask your people how they’re doing. I had people ask me this week if and it was a god send. Hell, I feel guilty just saying it’s been a hard week.

Be well maggots, and sincere condolences to all whether you’re doing “fine” or if you’re looking for your next meal.
I had something very similar hit me this morning. Hope everyone out there is doing well. It's been a long time since I've had an in-person interaction with another human being.

I came here for this today. You guys are good people. I've got a buddy who everytime he posts something talks about he how he interrupted his painting project or whatever to do something even more industrious. Whatever. I've been shuffling through a few things and I earned my youtube plumber merit badge when I fixed our sink 3 times when it broke three different ways but I am hardly using this covid twighlight zone to make proud some random retired hedge fund manager turned motivational speaker squawking about how we need to use this time deliberately and efficiently or risk falling behind. Meh.

Is there really a getting shit done thread? I never would have known, and that is kind of a buzzkill, compared to the rest of your covid stoke.

We've done a few things...but mostly for sanity. All major home projects are on hold and we're just enjoying our time around the house as best as possible. I've gone through all my winter gear to put it away and have dialed my summer gear so if things open up, I'm not spending time f'ing with gear.

We did clean out the liquor cabinet and laid out everything we don't want or know why we even have it. Every day around four, I pick a liquor from the outcast pile for Lady C and she picks one for me. If we're unwilling to make something out of it, it's poured in the sink and the bottle tossed. Why put something back neither of us would drink and store for another five years? Normally that stuff would go to the local drunk on the corner asking for money but we're not interacting with strangers right now.

yep. and those guilty feelings just add to the overall struggle. it's a vicious circle: feel shitty, feel guilty for feeling shitty when other people have it worse, feel even shittier, repeat.

I mean, you could blast some Tupac, pour it on the ground, and record a video. Of the wife. In a wet tshirt.

Thanks for annotating my post/thoughts to a “T”. That’s exactly the cycle.
