Something about him was really appealing. He always seemed like a dude that would be fun to hang out with, no matter what role he was in. This also reminds me how much better First Blood was then all the sequels. Dennehy was great in that. I’m not seeing Silverado mentioned in any of the obits. That as another great performance.

You can get a look look at a steak by sticking your head up a bull’s ass, but I’d rather take the butcher’s word for it.
I still call it The Jake.

Bummer, always enjoyed the way he played his roles.

First time I remember noticing him was in Gorky Park, but that must have been triggered by First Blood. Definitely he was a fixture during my 80's cinema viewing and I am thankful for it.

Met him on my 8th grade trip to Six Flags Great America just north of Chicago. He had just played John Wayne Gacey in a great made for TV movie and I remember telling him he was good in it.

Nothing like a 12yr old kid telling him he played a great pedo serial killer. I was such a dope.

Remember he was a super nice guy and chatted with us for a minute.

I just watched Gorky park a few weeks ago on Turner classic movies. Great movie. I always felt like he was in so many 80’s movies as well. Him and Richard Crenshaw, I felt like I was going to get a cantankerous character.

Had a big part in this; he's at 2:08-2:20 or so. Bad-ass rendition of the song.
