    Chinese Rat Flu

Hainan free trade zone. Provincial governor and his crew. Including a member of the “party” who was my contact.

To be fair, young girls in poor countries are taken advantage of by everyone. I once had a business woman come to my hotel for a meeting in Lima and the concierge called up stairs and said “shall I send her to your room?” He was confused. Ive seen it my whole life. Expats rolling off the planes for an assignment and calling up the hookers.

Never fully realized it until I did business myself in those places. I’d take clients or their idiot sons to Peru and basically have to baby sit them and remind them of manners. Sometimes settle disputes.

But China was a whole different level. They treated them like dogs.

Too bad Bob Kraft isn't on TGR, we could get an insiders opinion.

By the way “Handies in Wuhan” would make a sweet name for a B-52’s style art-pop band.

I received a blast email from my kids school superintendent yesterday, detailing precautions the school is taking regarding this virus. He got the nCov whatever part somewhat transposed and some OCD parent musta jumped all over his shit and he sent out an email apology later in the day correcting it.

It's really too bad you can't just call this thing the Chinese rat flu.

The thread title says Rat Flu so it's Rat Flu.

I think I'd just name that band the Wu-Handies.

Thread title rules all. Got it.

I think the Wu-Handies are what they call their groupies.

so if you report, what happens ? they just might come take you away never to be seen again. me thinks hiding out and making it on your own is probably the thing to do there.

If this virus has been good for anything it’s that it moved me to revisit some of the old Wu I liked so much.

What precautions are they taking that they aren't already taking for flu--or should be taking already? Wash hands, don't some to school sick.
Super seems alarmist to me, unless your kids go to school in China.

some of that is honeypots to trap western business dudes for a shakedown, some is just life can be very, very, cheap. In tier 1 cities like shanghai, Beijing, chengdu life is different than else where in China. Parts of China are still dirt, dirt, dirt poor.

2ndhand I’ve known multiple people that went whoring with PLA brass.

People see what they want to see. My experience was things quite like the “1st world” and things quite not like. MMV. FWIW I think lots of shitty asshole behavior isn’t “Chinese”, because Taiwan ain’t the same ime.
