If you’re skiing at 6 you don’t need this binding. And then by your argument if you need more than the 12 then you’re already covered with the 18. What am I missing. I’m not denying the 15 makes more sense, it’s just that I don’t see it solves a problem that actually exists.

People also think they need that unibody pedestal toe piece of the 18/15 vs the winged toe piece of the 14/12. People believe it has more elasticity.

Can Salomon bring back the 916? Who wants to start the campaign?

Pretty unlikely, considering shops had to drop the price on new STH Steels to around $200 to unload them. Unless shops can get them for $100 wholesale, Soli won't have many buyers.

Soli could sell a small production run at cost just for the marketing buzz though.

For me its the flatter mount of the 18/15 toe, creating a better ramp angle.

The 15/18 just feels better than the 14.

I have never skied the 18 with the shim though, so interested to see how the new GW AFD feels. Hope it's not too bad.

That Salomon Stance is wading into crowded territory and I'm here for it... 102 at 183 would be a useful travel ski for me. Topsheet is acceptable. Anyone have insights on how the metal is laid up?

Skied the Stance 90 today, best Salomon I’ve ever been on. That’s gonna be a very popular line of skies next year. Also skied the new Bonafide 97, I always hated this ski, felt like a 2x4, no longer the case. It’s a very easy turner, and miles apart from its predecessor. New Kore 87 is another ski that should get a lot of traction on the East Coast. New Ripstick 96 is a little beefier underfoot, another great ski from Elan. Perfect weather and snow today at Pico for the demo. That’s a cool old hill.

Icelantic is coming out with 2 new male and 2 new female skis for next year that have the rocker matching the sidecut similar to 4frnt’s ReflectTech. Read short blurb on the EVO link above. Don’t know much else about them though. 117 waist and 106 I think.

According to Karl Fostvedt story the Mindbender 116 is becoming a Mindbender 112 and 122 next year.

Shapes look pretty similar to the current 116.

I’m actually really excited about this because I was hoping K2 made a slightly narrower but same construction 116 for a sidecountry/touring ski. The 122 also sounds like a perfect pow day ski where you are boot packing or sidestepping all over to get pow. I wonder if my BMX 115s will hood their spot in the quiver.
