Would have skied earlier but helped an old smoke jumper, blew a head in a 98 blazer. Cool ride into town.
Actually, I think that that is where Le Si Mastery moved. Their old site was demoed for the B-Lakke expansion.

Le Ski Mastery is moved into the old Terry Sports. Will be relocated right next to the bridge after Blake Residences are done. In fact, last independent ski shop in Taos Ski Valley. Mounted my Metal Wrens back there today.
If you’re on the hill manana give me a shout. Metal Wrens, all black, red goggles. I’ll be out for a bit in the morning.
Ppl are cool, cops are on me. I'm out..
Well. That was my home base for many good years.
Blood sweat and tears in that place, literally.
Maybe you should glove up, probably lots of my dna in there still.
I was pretty naive thinking all those places wouldn’t just get bulldozed once it went to snowboarding and corporate douchebag ownership.
It’s interesting to think of the ski valley with a corporate vibe. With all the construction and development, it may appear that way on the surface. But it doesn’t seem the case at all in regards to the vibe on the hill.
First thing today I was greeted by the CEO and chatted for a bit about good snow and terrain openings. Ran into multiple friends at the base all stemming from different walks of life. Caught up with lifties and made plans to jam. Everyone I saw today had a smile on their face and was stoked to be there.
No matter how much money gets dumped into Taos Ski Valley, I really don’t think you can make this place “douchy”. That won’t change the terrain or weaken the stoke. It may bring down dorky front-rangers with tech setups and gopros. If you don’t like that, don’t ski on the weekend.
We have a beautiful ski area under crystal clear skies with an extremely unique surroundings.
^ Good thoughts, but to be honest, the lift up Kachina Peak weakened the stoke for me some.
Signed, Grumpy Old Fuck.
Pfft...Mickey was the biggest douchebag. And they should have allowed snowboarding 30 years ago.Originally Posted by ill-advised
I’m working in Taos on Thursday, probably going to stay the night and ski TSV on Friday. Storm forecast for Thurs-Fri so should be a good day.
Does anyone have a line on discounted tickets or lodging?
Yeah, I do. See my post above.
Whoa! Hold everything. Got my threads cornfused. I had posted in the Taos Mini thread that I can get some free "buddy passes" as I have a season pass. But that was for the following weekend. Sorry.

Check to see if you can pick a ticket up at Costco. The ABQ Costco might have them.
