I like the books idea, will check out some of the suggestions. The books would be some more bonding time with the little ones. They also elected to not reveal the sex(es) of the little ones so the idea of waiting for them to be born has merits unless it is something every baby needs like pacifiers etc.

Other thing (and really depends on the Mom and if planning on breast feeding, etc., is a bottle of her favorite alcohol for when she can go back to drinking after being off the stuff for so long..

I have a glass top as well. One burner that is a dual size and if you use the large setting it concentrates the energy of the sun into 10" of space on all settings that aren't simmer. The other 3 burners are generally fine. Holds heat too long, but is better than a standard coil

Tennis bracelets are lovely if that's her thing. I have a diamond one but a birthstone would be nice too. Mine is emerald so that would be a bit pricey plus emeralds are susceptible to chipping and cracking so not the best choice if you plan to wear it everyday. You can also get a combo diamond/birthstone bracelet where the birthstone is larger and in the center or alternating every other stone or groups of stones throughout the bracelet like this:

Conversly, if the birthstone is an expensive one like mine you can bring the price down by going with more metal and less stone for a lighter airy look:

Solitaire necklaces are nice if you're thinking birthstone and if you really want to go for it you can get matching earrings.

Things to consider: Does she currently wear a bracelet (does she likes wearing them)? What kind of work does she do (will it get in the way)? Is she into jewelry or has she always wanted a certain piece (have you heard her comment about a friend's jewelry that she likes)?

Re: diamonds - there are lots of unique colors to choose from these days which could be fun unless she's a purest and prefers white.

Wouldn't you know it - since I posted that I was annoyed about holiday gifts (that there was nothing I wanted or needed) I've been seeing all kinds of things like this:

SideSwipe flat beater with flex edge for KitchenAid mixers-6 QT Bowl-Lift (Blue, Most 6-QT, 7, 5.5, 5Plus Bowl-Lift)

    and this:

Pouring Shield, GUCHO Universal Pouring Chute for KitchenAid Bowl-Lift Stand Mixer Attachment/Accessories (pouringA)

Been looking at getting the wife a super automatic espresso machine. Anyone have any experience with the ones that are $600 or less? The super fancy ones are unfortunately out of my price range.
