Around here they put the dog down if that happens. No debate or trial, it's a done deal. I'd feel terrible to lose my good buddy that way.

the parents thing reminds me of used tool stores that have added signs "hey, there's sharp shit in here, parents control your brats" because apparently it's the stores fault if snotleigh crotchfruit douchespawn IV grabs a saw and gets hurt. even the fucking liquor stores have added signs that parents are responsible for shit their brat breaks.

Back in the old days you could count on a neighbor to help you; now they just step over your dead body and keep on going.
(Here's a true story--at the VA hospital an elevator door opens and a man falls out, having a grand mal seizure, foaming at the mouth, incontinent, the whole works. Medical resident, going home at the end of his day, steps right over the guy into the elevator and presses down. I saw that one*. Or another true story that was in the newspaper--a dead man rode up and down an elevator in a wheelchair at the VA in Chicago all day, finally noticed by someone getting into the elevator the next morning.)

*in case you're wondering what I did to help--I was a junior med student, I just hovered over the guy and pretended to be useful.

Oo, ooo ...... be sure to post your "migraine cocktail" recipe in the appropriate thread. I've been desperately in need of such.

I get no pain, just the aura; I like to ride it out with a gin tonic or three.

Working my way through “Why we sleep” (absolutely outstanding, A+++; starts out pretty dry, but kicks into gear when discussing fetuses) and “Atlas Obscura” (good shitter reading). I need to replenish the book supply. Stay tuned...

Word. I don't always get migraines. But when I do, I want to chop off my own head. Dos Equis never makes it better.

Heh. Try living in northern VT. It's a lot less predictable. And rains a metric fuck ton.

Probably in here somewhere already, but...

People who walk around holding cellphone in front of their face, on speaker, having a conversation. Why don't they hold the phone up to their ear (and not on speakerphone) like it's designed to be used?

I don’t get any pain, just the visual aura; a cocktail soothes me while I watch the fireworks.

I pity you poor bastards who get the full pain experience.
