I had the same thought, but I think they are just taken from very different angles and distance.

That's because they are 2 different lines, you're correct. The one with the arrow is located in the saddle between Tiedemann and Combatant, whereas Researcher's pic is of the actual Combatant Couloir from the 50 classics

Grand daddy seems to be the iconic one on bow peak but I've always considered the "funnel of death couloir" aesthetic perfection. Guessing it's pretty much 3000' to the fan. Always has a freight train of a cornice across the top of the funnel.

Lea - how does one get to Brunswick Cl in winter? I've done it a few times in the summer and I can image that last ridge is passable in winter - other than perhaps roped and walking on the cornice?

I came at it via the Lions Bay parking lot via Mt Harvey trail then over to Magnesia Meadows then exited out via Hat Peak

I asked Dave and Reuben who went there to ski in Tombstone and it was thin even in a fat fat snow year. Tombstone generally gets very little snow Fwiw. But good memories of summer hiking there!
