13.37ft this morning.

I'm a ways away. The last flood that reached where my barn sits was 1965 and that was 18+ feet which was odd because in 1996 the river was at 20+ feet and it didn't flood the barn area. Guess the water spread out in different directions.

My house is on the bench so it would take a crazy huge flood of biblical proportions to reach it.

Still pouring down rain.

High winds today. Should probably brace for a power outage and corresponding water outage (I'm on a well). At least it's not freezing cold.

This. My tiny backyard is fucking gross right now. I pretend I don’t have one. I let the dogs out on the deck. As far as I’m concerned they haven’t pooped in months.

Yeah I get that.

I missed a few piles on the days it was actively snowing when I had the horses out. They got buried fast and couldn't melt the snow fast enough to stay visible. Normally they are pretty easy to spot.

I have a Ranger with a cart attachment so I just cruise the pastures looking for piles and it's done in short order. The pastures are only an acre a piece x3 and horses are only out for part of the day so I know how many piles to expect plus the horses are creatures of habit and frequent the same spots. I never used to clean them everyday but got into the habit several years back and now it's just part of the routine. Certainly is easier than not and keeps the place looking (and smelling) nice.

Yes it would and I do have a harrow but I prefer to just take it out. Around here manure doesn't break down like it does on the wet side of the state. Seems to just dry out and petrify if you leave it in the pastures. Cow patties are a slightly different animal from road apples as I'm sure you are aware.

I only have two horses and three donkeys (I realize I've only been saying "horses," it's easier that way) so it's not a lot. Besides, when I collect it I can have a nice compost pile that is free of shavings and hay.
