Would it kill them to have a pool or two open in the evening?

    Sorry for the blog...
The folks who work at the pools have to get there and back home again safely if they're able to at all and then deal with their own Snowpocalypse, banana shortages and school closures.

Are you really going to forget how to swim with a few days practice missed?.

And then there's always the lakes or Sound if you really have to go.

Hey, hey, "snowmageddon" was trademark Washington DC 2010, did you license that?

    Typical non-athlete response.

What I don't get is: why those hours? I understand a limited schedule, but make it practical.

    You're right.

    Absolutely

Public pools should be city's priority during ~100 year snow storms.

Or maybe your rubber swim hat is too tight?

Just beeline it to the nearest public pool.

But only between 11 and 3. You'll have to wait until tomorrow if it's after 3.

Because 11 gives time for the crews to work on the roads, and as the morning progresses temperatures usually rise and traffic driving helps road conditions. The pool management also has enough time to make sure staff can make it in for opening and time to attempt to notify public of changes if they become necessary.

Closing at 3pm gives everyone time to close up and get home before dark when the roads start to freeze again.

What is pissing me off is all the fucking idiots walking in the road because the sidewalks are covered with snow and refusing to move out of the way for cars.

Have had this for a couple years now. Super nice lid that you can totally take apart to machine wash to keep from getting funky. Can drive an hour from home to the hill WITH the lid open and coffee is still crazy hot when I get to the parking lot.

This pisses me off because I just bought a 20 oz. Hydro flask for my new tea addiction yesterday. Now I want this.

    Well said.

Also 11 until 3 is probably really good time for kids and their parents who are shut out of schools.

Which is a better city priority than "atheletes" who could go shovel snow at a school if they need to work out.

    Fuc’n Trumpy.
If you think you're thrilled with it now, just wait until you find out what is scheduled to happen to the tax burden on middle class itemizers over the next decade!

Hint: grab some lube and then grab your ankles.

What itemizer? Everything went away already. No more business expenses, unless you make over $250k of course. Not exactly middle class salaries there.

I meant if you were a typical itemizer last year: W2 income mostly, mortgage interest, state and local, education expenses, claiming exemptions for a couple kids. That person is getting fucked hard.

Filed my taxes a couple weeks ago. Got a small but non-trivial refund, even though I didn’t get to deduct my mortgage interest like we’d planned.

Got an email this week that the IRS had finally gotten around to releasing new instructions for some of the tax changes so I have to redo it all and hope I don’t get even more fucked now.

We got so fucked by taxes. Donated an entire kitchen appliance set to charity. Expected a good write off. Instead...nothing. Fuck you 2018 Congress
