What he said? ^^^^. Driving up over 80 Sunday morning might not be an option. Getting to DP, via 50 is a long drive through town and around the lake.

4 to BV will be a breeze comparably. If storm pans out as forecast by BA, I'd expect Griz to open by afternoon. Maybe. Winds could effect Crystal at DP early as well. Top is a bit exposed. But it would have the superior long fall line skiing until Griz opens.

Rain just started up in Santa Cruz. I'll be at KW next three days with the family. Maybe a few solo early and late runs.

Griz was Great yesterday. Coverage is excellent.
I had really forgotten how much fun I can have at Bear.
I was supposed to be cruising only today, but kept getting sucked into some sweet lines.
With a refresh coming, definitely consider BV.

Good seafood in Baltimore or so I've heard. I'm jealous. (Not really.)

Just did a boot pack lap on Sunrise bowl (forgot my skins like an idiot), and damn is the snow good out there. That surface hoar that hasn't got taken out by wind though is going be sketchy for a good couple days when this next dump loads it up.
TLDR; Ski faster. Quit breathing. Don't crash.

Good luck getting here on Sunday. If you can, I’d flip your days. Sunday morning travel could be a challenge.

A few fresh inches on the deck.

Anyone ski KW yesterday? Is it well packed? Trying to determine ski choice for myself and the kiddo.

Suspect there is some great snow to be had in Slackland if you can get away for a lap today

I was at KW yesterday it was packed in the well traveled areas (still nice and soft, I didn't find firm snow anywhere). Only a little ways off the beaten path (I mainly hit wagon wheel bowl and thunder saddle) the chopped up snow was still soft and you could sink into it a surprising amount. Small pockets of untracked too. This cold snow and weather is phenomenal.

2 inches and calmly snowing, big flakes in KB.

BA predicting storms again on Friday and Sunday
It's snow for the commuters but it's also making them pay the price if they have to stick to the weekend.
If Ullr cared about the Christian calendar and capitalist workweek, He would bring in cold storms on Monday, with storm skiing Mon+Tue, Showers Wed and continued cold Thu+Fri to venture out into the BC and mop up the resorts. Then visitors get an easy drive in Friday and out Sunday, enjoying the "7 FEET OF NEW SNOW IN THE LAST 7 DAYS!!!" while locals rest up for the next cycle. Don't know how we'd ever get any work done tho...

Maybe tie an orange scarf on the back of your helmet, so the mags don't have to ask 500 guys for change.
Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.

I thought that was the reason for the stickers. The odds are high that I ride an occasional chair with fellow jongs, but no fkna’s yet!

    What a week!

Stayed cold the whole cycle - it was 8 degrees when we started up Trimmer on Thursday, and the snow on bonus run was the best I've ever skied there. Mad props to the two splitters who set that skintrack the day before. Wednesday was my first Minden Mile in years - our group was the first of the day to come down, and again the snow was as good as it's ever been down low.

On the downside, I've shoveled so much snow that it's given me lateral epicondylitis, the roads have been crap, and the snow has collapsed the wall around my deck. NVDOT didn't even bother to plow downtown until yesterday!

It's been mostly wind in South Lake so far. Only a couple inches on the ground - but that seems to have just changed and it's coming down harder now. Coming up tomorrow morning could be a tough ask, might want to get out here tonight if you plan to ski Sunday.

Hard to ski with 2500 pennies in your pockets.

My skiing isn't stoke worthy but here's some snow stoke--a 3 foot snow curtain hanging from my deck rail. I've never seen this before--the snow piled on the deck rail from the last storms fell over but had enough cohesion not to fall off.

Lots of fun out there today. Skied three laps with Mashed Potatoes before anyone showed up. Pali laps were skiing like untracked. Plenty deep to huck. Hooked up with the family at 11, then left them at the lodge and took two more off 10. Hard to see anything in Eagle, but skied amazing. Baby Kodak was plush. Then a few laps with the family down Ooops and Poops. So impressed with my son after that, I let him call it a day. Brought him in so my wife could keep lapping the trees.

It bit breezy now. Doubt I’ll get back out even if she comes back soon. I think 10 closed and 6 won’t last much longer.

Hard to tell how much snow has fallen today and how much is just blowing around. Good times.
