idk the used pair of Tahoe's that I felt up at Tahoe Sports Hub last season seamed heavy. That and the amount of camber on them made Roman arches look flat.
TLDR; Ski faster. Quit breathing. Don't crash.

It is battery run and uses AA (two I believe) batteries to recharge in the field. After three minutes the bag deflates. You can purchase "Booster" add-ons to increase capacity. The Boosters will all retail for the same price. Pretty sweet looking bag!

I think there were a few different versions of the Tahoe. The ones I have are a smidge under 2000 grams. So not light by touring standards, but not tankers either. Mine have a decent amount of camber overall, but definitely have the triple camber dip in the middle.

Any price on it? I'm crossing my fingers that next season the electronic systems will be down from "if only I was that rich" to "well, my life is probably worth that much."

Capacitor pack (batteries charge the capacitor which runs the fan that inflates the bag). There are only two on the market right now, the Scott (announced last SIA) and the BD 24 (released this fall).

This pack sounds like exactly what I need with the adaptable capacity. Something that works for a light day tour, a guiding/rescue pack, or a multiday depending on what "booster" is attached. If done right, it will be cheaper/easier than having 3 packs that you swap the airbag system between. If done wrong, it will carry awkward and be heavy.

This tech is smaller, lighter, and *should* be cheaper than large lithium battery powered fan packs like the older JetForces and the Arcteryx. Basically it is weight competitive with carbon tanked compressed air airbag systems while not requiring a tank swap or refill... can be reused in the field, and can have timed deflation.

I played around with the Scott supercapacitor pack earlier this year. It was noticeably lighter and more comfortable than the original JetForce.

BD is leasing the tech from Scott. Note though that the Scott E1 30 pack was built pretty minimalist to accentuate the lighter system (light suspension, no separate tool compartment, etc) and the 30L was including space taken up by the system. 2.7kg is light though! BD's E1 equipped Tour 26 is about the same weight but has even less room but gets an avi tool pocket.

I want to replace my 3.3kg BCA Float 42 with a capacitor pack for teaching/demo purposes, but I am gonna wait for the right one. Couldn't make the show this year.

I expect BCA will be introducing their advanced Float 2.0 system to more packs which means a smaller lighter canister due to a more efficient venturi system. (ETA they have now put Float 2.0 in their whole product line)

Speaking of airbags, can someone with access to the Dakine workbook tell me if the Poacher RAS Vest stays in the line for next year?

BD will have multiple lines of Airbag packs next year. They will be offering canister, capacitor, and battery powered fan models. Its a little confusing but lots of good pack options. Jetforce packs get lighter and more streamlined.

Yeah, but material separating this "department" is as thin as plastic bag in walmart. That's the main issue with scott e1 for me atm. I got goggles scratched with my shovel through this. And also the color. Who the fuck thought grey-ish white is a good color for a backcountry backpack... Used it for ~20 days and it's already very dirty.

Scott will also have 3 sizes of E1 backpack next season.

CAD $1600 and CAD $90 for the Boosters I believe.

We have a pretty light couloir ski in the works that will be factory direct. If everything works out with the final testing this spring it will be available on the site this Fall. Have a lot of rad skiers testing it...

You must have been looking at some OLD Tahoes when they had mega-camber. We are talking 6-8+ years old.

BD jetforce 24 is awesome. love the pack layout. Haven't had to deploy it (knock on wood) but otherwise it's great. I like it better than the arcteryx fan bag I tried. Current model retails for $1100.

I used my older blue Tahoes with a fair bit of camber and early rise rather than rocker for that . I chopped a couple inches off the twin tail and made a skin knotch. Been a while but they covered a lot of conditions really well. Don’t remember them being all that heavy but it’s been a while

I saw it in their booth today so I assume so.

I fucking love mine, btw. Now I just have to get the damn replacement bag from Mammut as the first was defective and the seam wasn’t sealed...
You should have been here yesterday!

Glad to see it, I held off on buying an dead bird airbag pack in case they were going to come out with a capacitor pack with larger capacity than the 25L one they had last year.
