I built a 1fz just flipping through threads for tips/info and an FSM. It's there.

I also studied Mud threads for a week before I pulled the trigger on my current LX470. You'll leave that forum knowing more than the mechanic you'd take it to for inspection.

PM me a link to the listing and I'll give you my thoughts, I'm well studied in the 100 Series addiction.

QFT. I have an excellent mechanic and I still text him threads from Mud which he appreciates because they're usually very thorough and save him time.

I know 100's well, too, and would be happy to help.

No link - buying offline - but will post an update on Sunday when I spend more time with the truck. It’s been a mom-of-3 kid hauler for the last 6 years with maintenance records in 5k increments. Before that (<65k miles) less detail, CarFax only.

Make sure the steering wheel is trashed. That's how you know it was driven by a married mom. Ring trashes the leather rim.

Saw the truck today. Super clean, no real issues to my untrained eye other than tires and alignment, some paint issues on the passenger door trim, some surface rust (split between MN and FL for 65k miles, then CO since). Suspension is original so needs replacing soon (150k miles) but nothing noticeable while driving. Might be time for new wheels/tires and a lift. Pulling the trigger tomorrow.

Good news, bad news, good news.

Good=had my new '19 Tundra parked under a tree and ran an errand so it's unscathed.
Bad=parked my 80 in that spot under the tree and a wind storm blew a 6" diameter branch off on to the roof, hood and quarter panel. Now have some more dents.
Good=just picked my 40 up from the brake guys and it's now roadworthy.

Still looks to good to start shredding it just yet. Prior to new dents. Going to try paintless dent repair. If that doesn't work, game on.

Need to start driving it to figure out what to fix next. All I've got for now. I've owned a 60, two 80s (still have one), and now a 40. I'd like to add a 55 to the list someday. Maybe get into the 70s. My dream is a built 45 but those are becoming tough to find. Who knows...

He lives in one of them, he can't afford a house with all those vehicles.

There's been one popping up on craigslist in Ballard as well.

Yeah, yeah. It's on the list of upgrades for the house. I have off street in the back but no garage. Normally they're back there but I just got the 40 back from brake work and the 80 is headed in for dent fixes tomorrow AM so they both happened to be out today. The deal we have is we build a garage when the house is paid for...tough to quickly pay off a house with a Landcruiser problem. But if any more limbs fall, it may happen sooner than later.

I had two FJ55's back in the late 80's and really want another but would settle for a 60 if a nice one landed in my lap. Someday...

Do these really need motors? Built like this, I thought they’re supposed to just look cool in the driveway.

seems like a silly price considering the one at Torfab was only $14k and ran, and was RHD.

LHD isn't worth an extra $16k +motor costs.
Guarantee some dude who wanted to #broverland #campiswhereyouparkit and got in way over his head.
That thing will sell for half, maybe a third, if not less what he's asking.
