So like they are worried you might gate check a carry on? Lots of folks do that. So I can maybe see that they are cracking down? Maybe. However that's retarded. My daughter just flew Air Canada from YMQ to YFC on some glorified puddle jumper with only carry on and online check-in was perfectly fine. Of course leaving the house at 4 in the am means one easily forgets one's boarding pass. Even when it is taped to the door. At eye level. Kiosk time.
Did you mean Montreal? That's CYUL.
Blind man is concerned over lack of a policy for people with concealed pistol licenses, gun safety in public places is certainly an important issue but this isn’t making to much sense

Is there a reason for the airport codes besides the obvious--easier to write than "Francisco de Orellana Airport in Coca Ecuador", easier for baggage handlers to read (or is that all done by bar code these days).
First I cannot find Arc binders locally, so I order online. Online retail really sucks for a lot of stuff.
Then UPS transfers the binders to my local USPS office and they disappear on 1/11. They still cannot find them. Wtf.
I think it was that they wanted me to buy one of the empty seats [60] on the plane. Fuck that, it's an hour twenty flight, I'll stand if I have to. Tried a kiosk and it screen locked and said to find an agent to assist. Waited in line watching morons opening bags at the counter and digging around for shit the wanted on the flight [annoying]. Took less than 30 seconds to get my pass once I got to the counter.

I hate UPS Sure Post. USPS doesn't deliver to my house and the package is either too big for the package locker at the cluster box, or all the package boxes are full, or there's too much snow at the boxes, or they just don't feel like it. So I have to go to the PO downtown, wait in line, wait a half hour while they search, and then often they say it's under too many other packages come back later. I would never knowingly have a package sent that way, but you often don't know how it's being sent until after it's been shipped.
No kidding. That's literally their job.
Trying to schedule a meeting with 4 other people. Coworker gives me available times via email at 4:30pm yesterday. I send out email at 9:00am today in an attempt to schedule the meeting. Coworker replies that he has already scheduled other meetings in that available time slot.

Try when you don't even receive mail at the local post office i.e my PO Box is in a different town. Bottom line, it is the vendors responsibility to get you your package as they contracted with the shipper. I don't even get them a postal address so why is it being taken to the PO? Bottom line: urban privilege. Us hicks out in the sticks are totally discriminated against.
The 4 letter code is the designation by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), and is the official airport code. The 3 letter code is used by the International Air Transport Association (IATA). Both are pronounced by acronym: "eye-cayo" and "eye-at-ah".
ICAO is the organization that attempts to standardize regulations, procedures, and equipment. I say attempts because a lot of countries (including this one) like to do their own things. It's the technical side of aviation.
There is a logic to the 4 letter codes. The first letter is a specific area: K = US lower 48, P = Pacific Ocean, C = Canada, M = Mexico and the Caribbean, etc
IATA is essentially a business/trade association, which is why it's on your ticket and baggage tag. Basically, commerce and logistics.
And just to make things more annoying, each airline has a different ICAO and IATA code - and often the call-sign is something other than the company name as well. For instance Virgin America was VRD, VX, and Redwood.
Adds on the phone app are killing TGR for me. Just makes me sad. Reminds me I have better things I could be doing.

However many are in a shit ton.
Speaking of the phone app, it's still broken.
People who put their phone number on the service order with instructions to make sure to call ahead before coming out, then they don’t answer their fucking phone. Wtf!
Re: Airport codes - some don't seem to make any sense. Here's an interesting tidbit for you if you've ever wondered about Chicago's odd code (ORD)
In the 1940's, it became the site of a military (and later, commercial) airport called Orchard Field, which was renamed for WW II ace Edward Henry "Butch" O'Hare, in 1949. However, nobody bothered to change the original "Orchard" code designation of ORD.
