Kept it low angle but it’s fucking deep out there. Nice surprise storm.

Wow, that looks like some real terrain, glad those guys made it out alive.
If this thread is supposed to be about weather, let’s talk about that. How about this potential for some SW flow next week? Kinda reminds me of about 10 years back when SW CO got blasted by consecutive storms around late December/ early January.

I don't like being outdoors Smithers, for one thing, there's too many fat children.

Haha, I fucking suck at TGR and this post reminded me of that. Merry holidaze, maggots

Basin needs a refresh. Some chopped up pow and windbuff to be found, but generally skied pretty rough...

Joel called for 4" on Wednesday and calling for another 4" tomorrow. Hope it's the same "4""

I have a few free days at powderhorn this year excited to get back there. I had a really good day there the one and only time I went. It was late in the year though, early season like now not sure the trees would all be filled in yet.
Huh. Will be up on Cameron on Sunday, hoping that system has enough nuts to make it that far.

Dumping big flakes here in Eagle right now, hopefully that means it's headed towards Vail and BC....
Is this the thread were we remind each other to make good decisions in the backcountry. Scary moderate in full effect right now. Check CAICs website for evidence of people pushing it will potentially deathly results. Have a happy weekend of meadow skipping.
Or is this the thread were people say, "You talking to me bro? I know what's up! Don't be a safety bob."
I am kinda tired of the discussion either way. I mean it is a good discussion to have but I have been reading into peoples comments too much on fb, instragram, etc. and I need to ease up a little bit on that. I just need to read the avy reports and stick to the zones that I know are safe.
Breckenridge live cam looking at the beaver chair; pouring snow right now; going to be 77 here; first day of winter; I live in the wrong state.

Anyone know when Flyer is projected to open at Copper? Looking at skiing there with the fam and they aren’t into The East side of the mountain.
Copper was saying flyer by christmas but that does not seem to be happening. you can access most of the mountain still so it is really only affecting a small percentage of terrain, and honestly I do not think that lift is ever good to lap anyways because it is long and stops a lot. that said even if copper has not been crowded lately the crowds are likely coming either way after tuesday and with one base lift out of center village that could be interesting.
Yeah, I know my way around copper pretty well, just seeing if anyone knew. We will probably head there Xmas day. I drive past a few times a week and they’ve had chairs on flyer for a few days now. It is definitely a nice convenient connector and if anything itll helps spread folks out.
Parts of jones pass were deep today. Wasn’t expecting that much.

Steamboat was good. Gave my wife and mom the good goggles and used a pair with failing foam. Couldn't see shit. Hit a water bar and had a hard double ejection fall. Ribs and wrist are sore, but frankly I got lucky. With the way I fell a concussion or broken collar bone was a possibility. Just bareyly was able to tuck my head and roll. Bought some overpriced goggles and skied some powder until my legs were pretty dead.

Just signed my boy up for the first four weeks of the little kids program at Abasin. I think somebody here said they were doing the same. Would be nice to meet up for some turns. Maybe even carpool if coming from Denver/Boulder.
That was me and I'll be there assuming we're talking Saturdays in Jan. Usually have a full car but if I end up going with just the boy I'll let you know. Turns sound good regardless.
