Hope y'all are right about incoming refresh.
Got excited by some flurries up top of NS, near end of day.
And talk of rain down in bay.
But coming home from N.Lake, it was as dry as a bone. No precip.
    I expected a little something [emoji53]

Possibly an inch at 6600 in alpine meadows and lightly snowing.

OFFICIAL TAHOE 18/19 STOKE, CONDITIONS, WEATHER THREAD

Just imagine the deepness that could have been, if this storm moved 15 miles further east over the crest, earlier yesterday.

I've learned not to get to excited over an incoming storm, seems more often than not it's breaking up on the crest or raining except at the highest elevations. That said it only takes one storm to really turn things around, lets hope xmas week we fair better.

Woke up a few times last night to check the radar, seems the Rose area did as well as anywhere else.

Dumping hard at Donner Lake, only a few inches so far, and forecast is for it to be over by 10am. I think it rained most of the night, at least it was raining when I got up to piss. Bombs at SB.

It may be my fault actually. My dad flew in yesterday, and I had asked Ullr for a easy flight into Reno.

All I can think of now though, is the 3 feet we missed out on.

I’m glad we got something though, cant really complain this time of year

Shasta got these last systems MUCH better if you can stand the 4 hr drive from tahoe or the bay and some skinning up.
TLDR; Ski faster. Quit breathing. Don't crash.

I'm not sure why..but that drive is excruciating from the bay. I did it twice during spring, once to scout out the area in May and once in June to climb it.

I know what you mean, when I went off to college my parents moved from Marin to Redding (now they are in Ashland thank god). The 505 to Redding is boring AF. The eyesight on my Subi makes that drive so much better since you can zone out a bit more.

But I think I'm going to head up to Shasta Tue Night-Saturday and looking for touring partners.

Squaw was super fun today. 4 to 6 in most everywhere. Chutes in C2 blown in really good about a foot-and-a-half. From 9 to 10:45 was pretty quiet. Fun day. Obviously you still have to be careful of sharks, need another five feet

I got a late start this morning and was rewarded with Patrol turning the signs on High T as I unloaded summit.
BTW who's the asshole boarder who side-slipped a trench down the center of Our Father top to bottom?

I don't know but he's definitley on this forum and will surely see your comment. Lots of snowboarders are on TGR. Most of them actually. I'd say TGR is almost exclusively a snowboard forum, so he will definitley see that comment and then never do that again.

I pretty much never ride Our Father, mostly because asshole skiers traverse across it. Not sure who's the bigger asshole.

Do any Tahoe mountains (esp Squaw) have resources like Mammoth's patrol site? Their site identifies all Mammoth slidepaths, start angle, average angle, length, aspect, and elevation. Pretty amazing: http://patrol.mammothmountain.com/At...tlasIndex.html

Come to think of it - I've never seen a public resource like this for any mountain anywhere.

I think skiers and slowboarders can universally agree that grooming boarderouy is just a big, big no-no.

    "Ride it don't slide it!"

I have no problem being the biggest asshole on the lift or in the chairlift yelling that out loud at kooks on the wrong line!
