This right here is the fundamental flaw of TABOR. People are inherently selfish and will not vote for something that raises their own taxes unless it directly benefits themself. This is the reason we live in a representative democracy and why you don't see national ballot initiatives. If things got done in a direct democracy, everyone would be doing it. Sometimes the best decision is not the popular one.

Funny thing is, I voted yes on every tax increase, including the ones for education.

When it comes to both schools and roads people have no idea how money is spent and have no concept of how much things on that scale cost so they just assume it’s being wasted left and right and refuse to give them more. Unfortunately that’s just human nature, ignorance creates skepticism.

but you know thanksgiving is usually that ski holiday that is brushed under the rug
only the die hards show up to ski the handful of open trails

but this year it's full on bro,
so many people are being thankful for trumps great economy and for the 99 inches we have gotten since august first this season
to the jackasses, texans, bro brahs, rental cars, gapers and tourons

What in the hell happened today on 70/Loveland? Really though, roads were clear a on 70/Loveland Pass at 2pm but then everything started closing. This is remarkable the dumbassery that shuts these roads down. This was not even a "big" storm yet it put people's traffic times at 5+ hours delayed. Remarkable.

The boat thing still bothers me. Not because someone was dumb enough to have an ill-equipped rig and had to back up a bunch of traffic, no. Its because I was in that traffic and I also saw the boat. I wanted to pull over in front of the boat, hop in and have the wife take some pics of me in the boat like I was sailing (ok, its a motor boat, piloting) it. I had to assume, however, that all of the people in the traffic that saw me doing this would assume that I was the cause of the traffic and that I'd likely be shot.
