Mounted my own fucking skis this afternoon. I used the Binding Freedom FKS paper template. Of course, I did a test run on a 2x4 beforehand. I overlayed the heel and toe templates at my BSL measurement and then taped them together so I had a one “sheet” paper template. I then used an xacto knife to cut little windows on either side of my BSL centerline so I could line up the template with the boot center line on the ski (see photo). I was also anal about being centered side to side, so I used calipers to make sure my ski centerline lined up with the template centerline.
Once I lined up the template on the ski, I taped it down and used a center punch to mark my drill locations. Drilling pilot holes in the center punch marks ensured I had no bit drift. When it came time to drill my 4x9mm holes, I used the wine cork stopper method previously mentioned to ensure I didn’t drill through the ski. I then filled the holes with Titebond glue and hand cranked the screws. Oh yeah, make sure you use a pozi screwdriver.

Lee Lau - xxx-er is the laziest Asian canuck I know
clear nylon top sheets.
up close they look something like this;
aka sick. They built some skis with these - like k108s - for a time last year due to limited supplies of their regular top sheet. It might be a custom option if you ask very very nicelyThese top sheets are very easy to spot - no white rim around/over the sidewall.
been there done that, but only with their newer skis - only year one/only wreckcreate115. It did not case any issues before i sold the skis and the new owner remounted them to a larger bsl, so no issues on his part as well. He went from 191 to 181 and loved the things.I've had zero issues with their older skis, besides my freeride horsys that are just messed up on both left edges for some reason. I have no idea what is wrong with them tbh. I think an error in manufacturing or some such has caused internal rusting/unbonding or something. Turning to the right they feel fine, to the left = pure shait, very unnerving.
Drilled Monday, mounted Tuesday, skied Wednesday. Thanks Bandit Man (and matt, and greasyslope) for the skis, TAHOEDOWN for plates, truax for bindings, and bsavery for skins.
when your spare parts supplier f*cks up twice in a row and you don't have time to wait for another shipment
