Is it a porn movie? Like on actual film? Or a cartoon from 1908?

    Shit that annoys you

Fucking school district closes schools for the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and the Monday after. They are also closed the entire week after New Years. Cool, no one works in this fucking town anyway.

    Shit that annoys you

I coach my son's hockey team. We've had some issues with kids forgetting equipment this year, thankfully just practice.

The shit drives me insane. I'm so over kids forgetting shit that I only care about making sure it doesn't happen again. I don't even care that they can't participate in the practice anymore. For years I would scramble all over the rink trying to find something they could use. Now I just walk away and let them figure it out.. Or not.

I spoke to the team after the second incident, and told them there would be consequences if it happened again. Gave them the talk about how it hurts the team, and how it would be terrible if they got to an away game without a piece of gear.

So today my son forgets a shinguard. I'm in the hallway and the conversation comes up with one of the assistant coaches, and I tell him that my son will be benched for a while during the next game because of it.

    His response...."Why?"
If it's green, smoke it...if it's pink, poke it

Ha! My daughter forgets warm clothing, and doesn’t always eat a meal when its appropriate, then asks mom or I to relieve her discomfort. I say let the discomfort teach the lesson (and it won’t harm her for the short term), but my wife isn’t always on the same page. So it happens again. Such is parenting I suppose.

Oh fer fucksake, I just spent most of my day working on something only to find out at 5pm that its not needed.

Reflecting on my day, I just realized the most productive time I spent all day was in Bobby Stainless's thread.

Showed up to the city council meeting an hour early on accident. Got a lot of interesting looks from the suit and tie folks wandering the halls.

This is why I try to follow a 48-hour-minimum-delay rule on any task that is deemed "required to be done immediately" by management.

I'd wager 80% of these requests end up not being needed.

    I will adopt this strategy.

I asked the 12 yr olds I coach "what the fuck is going on?" when they were giving about 25% effort the other day in practice.

Kid tells his mom it upset him and of course she doesn't say anything to me...I find out thru the grapevine

Kid needs to pick a different activity other than hockey if that hurt his feelings

Trying to do a nice thing for a few departments at the main office because they’ve been getting blown up all week, deciding if we’re going to reward them we might as well spread it around the whole location. The other locations catch wind and scream because they weren’t included. What was a nice thing is now a massive fucking headache of hurt feelings and bullshit grievance.

Motherfucker. They’re worse than my fucking kids.
    focus.

Million dollar homes (new construction) that are just a big square box with a flat roof. I get that they maximize interior square footage, but for chrissakes, have some architectural pride.

Most of my work days are boring, I don't have much in the way of meetings or places I have to be, but there are a couple of things that happen annually and one that happens quarterly, and they are important. Last month, one of the annual meetings was scheduled on a day I already had a vacation planned, and I just found out that next month, the other annual meeting and the quarterly meeting are scheduled on the same day. Motherfucker, that shit annoys me.

Because kids never swear at age 12? It's hockey, I'm sure they've said far worse shit in the locker room.

At 12, if there had been no such thing as profanity I would've been mute.
