I'm one of those "correct number of bikes to own is 'N+1'" folks, so I have a bike I leave at work in Redmond. If the weather's nice, it's a 12 mi ride to the UW light rail station where one can then be downtown in 10 mins. If it's shitty, the 545 will get me there and back again. Either way, there are options and none of them require driving anywhere near downtown which, I agree, is a goddamn nightmare.

I'll be driving from Redmond to Montlake to stash the car then bus/light rail/etc into the city. If you want a ride let me know.

And I also might have crash space for people but it won't be fancy and the guys working on the house might serve as a wake up in the morning
