‘Want to poop better?’: latest slogan to boost physical activity
The national non-profit, ParticipACTION has campaigned for years to try to get Canadians to be more physically active and the latest, attention-grabbing effort focuses on benefits such as better bowel function.
Vast majority of Canadians not active enough
In a news release, ParticipACTION writes that 82 per cent of Canadian adults are not getting enough physical activity. It adds that when Canadians think about the benefits they focus on weight loss and looking good. The new campaign seeks is to shift the focus to other benefits such as better sleep, better mood, higher energy, less stress, better cognitive function and better sex
Better sleep, better sex promised
Specifically, it suggests “50 minutes of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity a week provides a 65 per cent improvement in sleep quality for adults aged 18 and older, making them feel less tired during the day and helping them sleep better the next night…
“As for better sex… Regular exercise is a natural performance-enhancer for men and it reduces stress which is the number one libido killer for women. It also boosts mood, self-confidence and body image, all of which increase one’s desire for intimacy.”
And about constipation…
The news release, goes on to say that one in four Canadians have symptoms of constipation and that being physically active helps stimulate intestinal function as opposed to inactivity which slows digestion.

Cool

Kenny Satch - With pleasure
I remember a guy shooting one of those years ago. It was a nightmare for him. While not protected, the animal was considered sacred, and most hunters considered it poor form.

Privacy commissioner launches investigation into Statscan’s efforts to obtain banking records
https://www.theglobeandmail.com/poli...nking-records/
...to which the outraged Canadian public responded with, "Dude! Are you fucking high?!?!"Federal Privacy Commissioner Daniel Therrien is launching an investigation of Statistics Canada over its plan to force banks to hand over banking records that would allow detailed tracking of how and where Canadians spend their money.
The agency’s plan surprised Canada’s banking sector, and the issue dominated Question Period on Wednesday as Conservative MPs accused the government of allowing Statscan to create a massive database on individual Canadians without their consent.
...
However, the plan moved quickly from theoretical consultations to imminent reality in recent days, as the banking sector confirmed that it had received letters from Statscan stating that co-operation on the matter would be required as of January. Global News recently reported that the agency plans to collect “individual-level financial transactions data” and social insurance numbers in order to develop a “new institutional personal information bank.”
...
Statscan is proposing that banks and other businesses provide the agency with raw, non-anonymized data. Statscan would then do the work of removing individual names.
What a crock. Maybe start with our corporate citizens first, including their overseas accounts. Ya know, to get an accurate picture of their transaction habits. Or how about pro sport sponsored charities?
Fuck.
