Golfed at Twin Lakes in Kaleden, BC with my dad and brothers last week while on vacation. Hole 5, 201 yard par 3; played a hybrid 3 off the tee, and just missed holing it.

Tapped it in for my first ever birdie, but gave up 9 strokes to my old man after the turn to lose by 2.
My biggest difficulty is consistency with irons. I feel like I've finally got my driver mostly figured out (about 80% fairways, 270yds avg), but my mid and short game is what is killing me most often, and I don't know what it is. I have no trouble hitting off the mat at the range, but once I'm out on the course I'm shanking close to half of my attempts. I'm sure the fact that I'm using an older set of PowerBilts doesn't help, but since new clubs aren't in the budget, anyone have any other tips?
And before you congratulate me on my first birdie, I've been golfing semi-seriously for 3-4 years now (at about a 24 handicap) so that felt like it was loooong overdue.
And just for fun, here's another shot from Twin Lakes. The 12th green is at the back of a flat area after a looong uphill, so they do what they can to make the pin visible:
