Listen, BeaterJuice: you gotta get familiar with a ski and just stay with it for a while. Don't get jonesy, don't waste your goddamn money like this, bro! Pissing it away, along with your cred. (Eesh, sounds harsh, but it's true).

Your skiing will become much more locked-in and natural if you can ski the same set for like 100 days or more. Try it!

Or, as it's currently the dog days of hot smokey summer, just go ride.

The eternally unsatisfied are a weird bunch (I'm also lookin at you, LVS!!!)... driving Tech Talk in circles and jonesing into broke-ass oblivion. Pick the battles.

Wait, what were we talking about?

I dont have or want any TGR cred. If I cared about that I wouldn’t have made it so public. I am a normal skier looking to get or provide information to other normal skiers.

I must make sacrifices in the name of ski research.

I gotta tell ya, don’t dis the 1x flex. Makes the ski bend and pop really well in the 3D snow. Trucks over everything in its path (previous best cut up ski was the stockli DP pro in a 201). My totally unscientific thought is that it makes the ski a much better DD since you are able to really arc on the groomer due to an easy flex.

Or I’m a fucking retard. Could be either.

What, the ski designers know what they're doing?

First off, everyone wants TGR cred. Secondly, normal skiers do not obsess over skis like you do. Not saying it is a bad thing. Normal is to appreciate the comedy in this.

This thread is delivering, but I’m laughing with you beaterjuice, not at you. You are going to regret selling those skis. It was the closest to your own pro ski you may ever get.
I have been there too many years also, and I am only slightly wiser now. Pre-ON3P I paired some telemark binding to some RC112s all fired up to slay the shit out of the mountain, drop cliffs, drop panties and party the night away. As life would have it, the economy was back, I worked too much, had a steady girlfriend, and skied half as much as the year before. I spent the season scared the RC112’s were going to take a knee away from me.
I see a new crop every year move to Jackson ready to make a name for themselves like Harkin Banks. Some do make it to the top, some burn out and go home to live in suburbia, some find their niche here and make a life of it. There used to be a bumper sticker around here “beatings will continue until moral improves”. It is just a bump in the road you are taking it well.
I still have more skis, mostly ON3P, than I need. And I still get too excited about the up coming ski season in early August.
But I am slowly coming around, I ski to ski another day, I don’t care if I am not the best skier on the mountain (I never was), but I am always having fun. And maybe I’ll have a restrained quiver some day.
Now who wants to buy my custom Kartels, 116mm 186cm, tour layup, double carbon, cast Si&l plates with Sth 16 at 315bsl on the line. There is not enough room in the nest for these and the SG. I’ll have a gear swap post in the near future.

Oh and hahahahahaha beaterjuice sold his nevergreens, after skiing them less than a dozen times.

protests are pretty soft snow specific. i love them in the right conditions, don’t feel like they have nearly the versatility of goats. i haven’t ridden a supergoat, just on the first RES goats still.

How about a trade - 193 Shiros with jesters for the Kartels?

Im not too worried about the haters. They dont know the real reasons why I’m leaving the On3p bandwagon (nevergreen, more like neveragain!) They think I sold Aever cuz it was too burly. Ha. Not even close. It’s all a joke to me.
