that is nice. my parents built a beachouse in Galveston and it's really nice but galveston can never be compared to Malibu.

hey now ! that brown water is all from what the Mississippi river brings down to that region, new Orleans water is just as bad; I blame st. Louis.

but admittingly you are right, it's not attractive. if you live anywhere near there it is worth driving to corpus Christi just for the cleaner beaches and actual blue water.

I still loved going to Galveston time to time when I lived in Houston though.
There something about driving into that island gave me the feel of getting away without traveling too far.

When I interviewed at BCM for grad school many years ago, they bused us to Galveston to check out the Marti Gras celebration there. I went for a long walk around town and was amazed by curbs that were, like, two feet high.
