A HSQ on 1 will take.... 1 minute at best? I need more time than that to rest ski abowl->zoom laps.

Has Wild Child been open? Every time I’ve been this season, that whole area has been closed.

That's correct, the snapshot from 4/13/17 shows $379 for renewals.

Fun fact: a HSQ vs fixed grip quad usually have close to the same theoretical uphill capacity per hour. The limiting factor is how quickly you can load/unload chairs, so the HSQ has a faster cable but the chairs are spaced more widely. Real world uphill capacity would usually be higher for a HSQ though since gapers can get on and off easier and not stop the chair.

They're certainly useful for marketing though, and most people will gravitate to the high speed chair if given the choice between that and a fixed grip. My guess is that's the main reason they're doing it - with 2 now being more of a pure beginner lift, they want people to gravitate towards 1 for accessing the rest of the mountain.

I'd rather they just replace 1 with a new fixed triple, but not surprised they're doing it. I am surprised that they went with a fixed grip for Ptarmigan though.

No worries. Good to run into you.

Looks like deep day #3 is in store. I hope somebody can get up there today. If they can open Super bowl > Wild Child you'll need a snorkel. /hype

    I would say yes

ANSI standards released in 2017 for ski lifts mandate safety bars:

    https://blog.ansi.org/2016/01/ansi-b...t-safety/#gref

ANSI standards are not usually legally binding, but Loveland could open themselves up to lawsuits if they are not followed.

Wow, this morning was outstanding. Didn't get to the office quite as early as I aimed, but the pow was well worth it...

Good to meet you, PowTron. I hope the rest of your day was great.

Might've been the best day of the year for me today.

Anybody catch the casualties on the traverse from the top of 9 towards Castle Rock? The naturally formed kicker on the low point of the traverse, before the first uphill, WRECKED all kinds of rental ski crews. Full yard sale every time.
