@iggyskier Any experience with DPS Phantom? Would you put it on your skis?
Haven't skied it so no feedback on the actual wax-replacing performance. I've had two customers reach out after trying it. Both were requesting our help getting the skis back to the factory tune after they were brought to shop, ground, and had Phantom applied. We have similar experiences with shops tuning our skis regularly though. Generally they've ground the skis edge high or run the edges far too sharp. The later is easy to fix, but the former normally requires a complete retune.

I see the merits for recreational skiers who don't want to spend the time, money, or have the knowledge to maintain their gear.

That said, never used it, never applied it, haven't had any discussions directly with DPS pertaining to its application in a production environment, and don't know much about the changes separating it from the Juice Permanent formula. Most of my first hand knowledge/feedback was from the summer of 2017 when some ski brands were bouncing around discussions of Juice Permanent and the pricing to put it into production. At the time it was being tested by another company who's CEO I am close with (likely not too hard to venture a guess). His feedback led me to conclude it was not worth us testing.
Sounds like the formula is different now, so you know as much as I do at this point.

As it pertains to applying it to ON3P, they are your skis. Just know I will be pounding my head against a wall when you email me saying the skis have been ground and no longer ski like we sent them out.

Edit to add: I would, obviously, be interested to hear from people who have tried it on our skis outside of the ones who had application-related tune issues, so as we get feedback in I'll relay it. At some point I'll buy some to see what we think as well.

My fiancé bought them for me. I was really scratching my head on whether I could justify another pair of skis. She could.

Waiting to hear what she did to make her want to buy me them. Maybe she just really likes me.

My money says it's about as useful and effective as rust-proofing undercoating.

Why do you own so few skis?

Glad the gunmetal and grizzlycorn are gone. I have quiver issues below 110 underfoot that I should be dealing with. But can’t stop looking at the SG.

I think we're down to 3 in stock if anyone wants one now.

Next presale opening will be late this month/early next month with a mid-late May press, for those still wanting the Aever flex.

SuperGoat PSA - ON3P Limited Run

I took supergoats out in a mixed density powder storm today, windy with no visability. Couldn’t see shit. Soft, creamy snow that was getting lighter throughout the day, maybe 8-9in. Pretty untracked for Squaw, from new snow falling and the wind blowing some of the lighter stuff around. Plus, no one out in that nasty weather. I enjoyed every second. Yesterday I skied deeper snow with more visability, on 2017 189 stock BGs.

SG’s are incredibly easy to initiate turns with in untracked me snow, or on soft groomers. I could feel the asym and RES working their magic together in soft snow. It’s astonishing. They aren’t as loose in the tail as normal BGs, and they kind of “carve” more. I can carve the 2017 BGs decently well, better than the 2015s, but the new asym combined with the slightly flatter tail definitely carves harder on anything even remotely soft.

Truly, they feel almost like 191 Wrens mixed with 191 BGs, except more floaty. SG’s keep all of the best traits of both, and rarely show any of the flaws. Not major flaws, but sometimes I find the 189 2017 BGs to dive a bit in lighter, fluffier snow, and also they dont hold speed as well in untracked flats. The 191 Wrens want to just nuke the fall line, and demand a lot of input to break free and get creative in powder.

I could feel the extra stability today, when I had to straight line some chunder with no visability. I wasnt going super fast, but ran into some choppy chop without warning multiple times, and I felt I could just keep driving them no matter what. They do all the work. Keep in that forward position, and they run over everything. For better skiers than me, the sky is the limit with these things.

Obviously these are powder skis. That said, would you still want to ski them once the powder starts getting moguled up? are they going to be forgiving or relatively quick edge to edge in hardpack, or do i have to be skiing soft, un-bumped terrain? I assume they will be fine if im skiing fast and skipping over the top of the bumps, but i dont always want to be angry-skiing.

My 2011 191 BGs are a handful if i have to get them through bumps.

As long as there’s soft snow to starve, yes.

Dust on crust over deep hard bumps, not really.

They ski angry for the most part.

Has anyone AB’d them against 196 Renegades?

Is it amateur form to go full Super without trying Billy 1st?

I ski WA cascades, looks like a front coming in later next week, sunshine and warm this weekend so planning to go touring.

Jupiter: I went straight to super, have not skied anything ON3P before, will report back. I am a bigger guy (6'3" 200lbs) have had a bamboo core before and liked it, I like semi pintails in powder (Lhasa!) and prefer flatter tails it seemed like the way to go.

I skied the stiff super for a bunch of runs in 20+" of pow. Kickass ski. I bought the 191, couldn't pass up a good deal. I personally like the super better. Just as loose yet it sets an edge better when needed, I don't have an issue with the 191 per se. The tip profile is better than the 191, doesn't plow as much.
If I were you I would go super. If I could find a deal on them I would buy them as I'm a cheap bastard and have a real hard time paying retail for skis.

SuperGoat PSA - ON3P Limited Run

^ cool, thx u doods. Sounds like the Super has a little more of that frictionless feeling I’ve come to love / be addicted to with Rens / EHP. Seems like a hell of a soft-snow travel ski in a two ski quiver, fun in powder, very versatile and not too beastly- i wouldn’t go full aever. ON3P indestructibility and the corest of skis in the lines. It’s been base-smashing season on the EC this year, despite getting more than average powder days.

And I hear ya on paying retail- never done that, but even regular BGs seem to have crazy value around here. Guess we all like to smash rocks.

It’s only “too” beastly in deep bumps. Otherwise, very easy to ski.

I only buy retail when it’s On3p. Hell, I won’t spend over $500 unless it’s an On3p. That is a lot of money for me, but I feel you really get what you pay for. A better performing, more durable ski..

I have a hard time believing any ski is more durable than Praxis which are gifted survivalists, but it is the word, and is bond.

Praxis is up there too, but I still think On3p has more bombproof bases.

Praxis are worth the money also. Pretty much the only 2 brands I’d shell out $600 plus for a ski.

I used to be a really big Moment fan, but I am not anymore. They make great performing skis, but the softwood core materials, absolute shit finishing jobs, and elitist attitude really pushed me away. I was looking at 2018 Deathwishes the other day. Brand new with no wax whatsoever on the base. Dry as I have ever seen. And the topsheets already had some burrs on them, and they’re semi-cap.. I just feel like they are giving me a huge middle finger if I buy there skis. To each their own though.

I've hit some rocks pretty dang hard on my 191s and they keep going hard. And that's not smooth granite, but fucking sharp dagger basalt. Like all skis, obviously there is a limit to what kind of punishment a ski can take and speed, direction of travel, if you have a powder bow wave, etc are all factors.

Same base material, same sidewall material, but thicker bases and edges on ON3Ps. So ON3Ps are a bit more resistant to damage than Praxis.
