Don't know. I think the plan was to try and have the Super Gay open for biking when the gondi went in. But maybe the Zepher is pile and ownership has money and the replacement is happening sooner rather than later? I'm pretty sure they could make Gemini>Eskimo work to get up to Sunspot.

[I could care less, I just hear things from friends that work there. WP has a pretty solid track record of leaking news items to soften the blow when the announcement finally comes]

I am ok with this. Not the ideal, but looking towards water needs for summer. So better late than never in that case.

No, no. Eldora is the same lame place with slow lifts and no terrain to ski that he hit back in the early nineties. Nothing changes.

Never been. The one time I did try to go for an upslope storm, they were turning people around at the turn off by Nederland.

Does anyone really pay $100+ for a pass to skin up?!

My (less reliable) sources implied it would be a little further down the road but who knows. I can't see them going a summer without a way to move bikes uphill though.

    Golf clap for "lunch cock."

Eldora is not bad, its just that (besides west ridge and some trees over by Corona), I always get the feel that I'm skiing in Vermont. Vermont doesn't suck, but I live in Colorado for a reason.

Well, dealing with Keystone's Gondola replacement and Montezuma construction in past seasons, the Gondola resulted in massive disruption and closures all season long even though they had Summit Express. A huge number of Keystone's trails pass under the Gondola and the service roads were heavily used for construction. It basically killed the entire season. Employees were straight up warning people not to buy passes.

Montezuma replacement resulted in relatively few and small closures... only a few runs pass under the lift line.

Vermont resorts have more personality. Eldo is pretty lame

Good to know. Only one DH trail at Wanker (Boulevard) passes under the Zephyr so perhaps that would help. I could see the service roads being a bigger issue.

Eldora's terrain would make it a solid second tier East Coast ski area. Maybe 2b.

Eldora can't be blamed for the reality of their terrain and the reality of their wind. They can, however, be blamed for their piss poor management over the years.

Eldora is world class! Big Vert, big snow, and top notch facilities. You summit guys should drive right by Copper, Breckenridge, Keystone, Abasin, and Loveland and come on down.

Get with the program, Winter Park is the new red headed step child, not Eldora.
Any conditions beta from East Portal and Bear Lake? Need to get some split time in.

VT actually still receives snow, so your point is?

Eldora plans to build a gondy from the East Portal up. That should be sick.

    Moffat Gondola will be great.
Let's make sure it connects to the new Lunch Rock gondola.

    #MEG is more appropriate

That would provide for lift accessed mountain biking off the Continental Divide in the summer. Drop off either side. Fuck it, build the thing.

So as I see the stock listed companies lining up, the #MEG will never flow into the #SummitVailInterconnect gondie.

Aren't there antitrust issues here? Dormant intrastate commerce clause anyone?
