Got a pair of those Norlan glasses for Christmas from my mom (thanks mom). She also got me a bottle of Casa Noble Anejo (tasty tequila).

I find the Wellers to be easy-drinking...but lack "character".

Look for Old Grand Dad 114, Elijah Craig Barrel Proof, and Knob Creek Single Barrel. Baker's is really similar, but a lower proof (107).

Seriously, try the OGD 114. Much better than regular OGD, and well priced.

Good call. Tried some at dinner 2nite. Was very surprised and happy. Should have ordered it neat though as they didn't have big cube (i know I feel douchey even saying it) and I preferred it quite a bit more before it watered down. Also only $9 for a double. Gonna have to put it in the rotation. Thanks again guys for the recommendation.

I keep re-visiting the Larceny, and trying to like it. For some reason I just don't. I'm really digging the Elijah Craig, and Eagle Rare in that price point.

I’ve been getting some eye rolls from the wife lately when I come home with a new bottle. But it’s all in the name of science I tell ya!

Lucked out this weekend and got a bottle of Weller 12, OWA, Sazerac Rye, and Elmer T Lee from a buddy. Also got to try some Rock Hill Farms that was absolutely delicious.

Opened the EH Taylor, and it is amazing. Have not opened the Blood Oath, seems like it might be a bottle that the marketing and exclusivity may warrant keeping unopened (i.e. the reviews of the actual bourbon don't keep up with the hype) ... but will likely just find the right night and pop it.

(wine is part of another rabbit hole addiction, but will save that for it's own thread...)

The trick is to figure out what it is that you like at some point and have kind of a list when you go to the bottle shop and see what's available in your price range. I've experimented a lot, and every now and then I'll try something new but I've got a pretty good idea of what I like best, which is good when I'm faced with aisles full of brown liquor choices.

I'll stock up a bit if I find something that isn't always available. I came across a good price on George Stagg Jr. recently at my LLS so I picked up a few. I've done the same with Four Roses single barrel.

The Jack Red Dog is very smooth, great taste on the front end and mellow on the back. Unfortunately, unless you are in Tennessee, neither White Rabbit or Red Dog are available.

I think EHT is going to be my next purchase. I think this Eagle Rare is going to be finished off pretty soon, and when I go for a replacment an EHT might jump in for the ride home.

For some reason the last 2 times I have drank Stagg Jr. it went down the wrong pipe.

LLS got in a barrel select shipment of Eagle Rare....it is OH so tasty. I bought 3 bottles. Might go back for more to store in the bunker.
