    Good one!

Haven't seen an Old Larry posting recently. He had some good family stories.

Luffski was a strong content provider for a while. Then vanished as quickly as he came.

Greg (gpetrics) is still active on social media, and it seems somewhat with the website as well...

I recently bought one of these from him:

That said, what happened to laseranimal? Maybe the Magic crew are still in touch. He used to be a big presence in the ECRC back around when I joined..

Wow, this thread is bringing back memories. I had totally forgotten I met TJ Brk. I think he was actually the first internet skier I met, on a trip to Tremblant.

While he was very nice, and got me some really cheap tremblant passes and showed me around, he was exceedingly odd. I can't believe I've forgotten about this for so long, but he told me about how Aspen Extreme was based on him, his military experience, his current and previous love interests...and his incredible softball skills.

For some reason I went back to his A-frame off the mountain(maybe buying skis? Remembering this and writing I'm thinking 'what the hell was I doing?') and he proceeded to show me his softball bat collection and tell me how there were people after him for one reason or another. I distinctly remember him telling me about bat speed and how he planned to protect himself.

During this whole saga we went to a ski shop in town(they used to do a lot of deals over the phone for mags...wish I could remember the name). TJ thought the guys there loved him, but it was clear they thought he was odd and they were laughing at him, not with him. I left feeling bad for TJ.

Oh, at some point he wanted me to go to a strip club with him. I have a strict 'no strip clubs with internet strangers' rule.

    My takeaway from this trip:
    1. People on the internet are weird
    2. I'm too trusting of strangers
    3. Wait 15 years to tell anyone.

Anyone know where gheepup ended up? I sold him a topper off my pickup which was as good of an excuse as any to go ski at Targhee. Slept on his couch, he got me a pass the next day, we skied and never heard from him again. He was weird too but a good free soul kind of weird.

I had a similar experience regarding skiing with a couple of different people I 'met' on TGR, neither of which post here any more but still may lurk. But I don't know that so their names shall remain anonymous. I skied with each of them once at Schweitzer at separate times and came away thinking, never again. It was just a little too strange. Plus my IRL friends were like, WTF? Anyway, TGR is good for wasting time and mostly useless chatter but I'll avoid meeting someone from here IRL unless I've got a much better handle on what they're about before I actually meet them.

Ghee Pup seemed like a pretty good kid. I liked him. Problem is, he would get fucking hammered, then then become extremely belligerent. Fucking scared Yoga at the Mammy Mini 11 or 12 years ago- she was like "He is NOT staying in our place tonight" following the last night of bacchanalia. Last I saw him he was eating MTT's abandoned-in-our-fridge and almost full family bucket of KFC while sitting in the back of his pickup under that lid you sold him, no doubt. He ceased posting shortly after that trip. Hope he's okay.

Heh, found the pic- Schuss, Ghee Pup, Yoga Chick, Gone Huckin, and MTT in the back doing...whatever the fuck he's doing.

I am good friends now with a bunch of folks met on the Internet (most originally on ttips but many of them are here too). Met up with a couple of different mags last season at winter park last year and it wasn't weird at all. I'd connect with either again.

Only met a couple of weird-not-in-a-good-way internet people out of many.

Are you sure it's no Idaho causing the weirdness rather than TGR?

I don't think I have met one "weird in a bad way" person from this board, and I even randomly met Gosey at Jackson once.

From skiing to biking to fishing, they have all been solid.

I think we were going over all the pix of the snow ball fight from earlier that day to figure out which to post in the Mini thread.

Nah, one was from PDX, the other from AK. They just happened to be in the area and connected for a personal tour of the mountain. I'm not saying they were bad, just weird. Maybe it's the Idaho effect on me?? Nahhhhh....
