Help ol' KQ Claus out here - I need a recommendation for a men's bathrobe. Individual is 6'4", slim build, 42L jacket.
I've done a little looking online but as usual the reviews are all over the place so I'm hoping you all can shed some light.

I’m in that world — never found one that fit

Kind of depends on what he wants - plush, light, absorbent, etc. - but this is my go-to during the winter, because it's stunningly soft, comfy and warm:

LL Bean has some nice ones. Wife bought me one a few years ago. Even got it monikered

Had good luck with the full length lands end terry robes. They come in 3 or 4 sizes and, while they're still cut fuller than I'd prefer, you can get a lot closer to the side he needs than you would with a one size fits all option. The terry material has held up really well to everyday use and tons of trips through the washer and dryer.
Brandine: Now Cletus, if I catch you with pig lipstick on your collar one more time you ain't gonna be allowed to sleep in the barn no more!
Cletus: Duly noted.
Ritz-Carlton has complimentary bathrobes.
I’ll 3rd lands end. I’m 6’2” 175 42 reg/long. Fits great

Have you considered buying him a kimono? I was at a bridal show at the Radisson in Roseville earlier this fall and in the "gifts for him" part of the show they had some men wearing some very sexy silk kimonos. I even thought about getting one for Andrew for Christmas.
Here you go. He’ll love it. Trust me.

This is my friend's company. She's amazing and so are her robes. Support her if you can. I've bought a bunch of robes for friends and fam from her and everyone loves them. http://www.luxurysparobes.com

Another vote for Land's End fleece robe. Comes well down the calves. I'm 6', 175 and have an XL. I have very long arms--a large would be too short in the arms. Length matters more than width with a bathrobe IMO. This is my winter robe. I also have a terry cloth robe for getting in and out of the spa. In the summer I wear a sarong (unless we have company, then I wear pajama pants--no wardrobe malfunctions.)
So back in the day the 400+CPA office I worked for would have the black tie xmas party at the mariott but you could get a subsidized room at the ritz next door for like $60 to avoid driving drunk. So the mariot in it's "presentation" of desert, every year the chefs would all parade through the dinner with something flaming, turn the lights off to see it etc. So totally wasted we would re-enact the presentation. Dressed only in our complimentary bathrobes and towels.
not a recommended career move but damn it was fun.

Xl for the length for me.

Reviews are sooooooooooo frustrating. People might mention a size but they don't give their measurements. Then there are some that seem totally off like this one:
This lightish weight robe was a good Christmas gift for my husband. At 5'11" & 190 lbs. I decided on an XL tall to give plenty of length & wrap should there be shrinkage after washing. As he's been wearing a heavy winter robe it's still in it's wrappings but looks & fits nicely.
WTF? An XL-Tall for someone who is 5'11" 190? That seems off unless of course they like it huge and long (though she does mention being worried about shrinkage). This is the robe you have - did it shrink?

My wife picked up a Ralph Lauren one for me for my birthday. Not normally a brand she would buy and not normally a brand I would wear but this bad boy is the nuts. Super lux. And not too spendy. I'm 6'1 and 165lbs. Size is M/L.

6'3" here. I like them full length and heavy terrycloth for the winter and a real Japanese kimono for the summer.
Best luck I've had for the winter versions is to buy from the 'big and tall' size ranges. They're baggy but damn near floor length. Think my most recent one cam from an Amazon seller.
