Somewhere in the Bmills archives is a VHS of a high school buddy launching his Justy over a very steep railroad crossing.

The Duke boys dreamed about getting that much air in a car.

And despite coming back to earth with all the force of a Coors Light can filled with dimes, and sounding pretty much the same, that thing lived to drive at least another year.

    +3 on the Justy.
I still call it The Jake.

You'd be hard pressed to find a car that would be more entertaining. Throw a rally setup on there and go bananas.

I remember when the criteria was something that started on cold mornings with heat and defrost that worked [emoji14]

Great point. Just what type of poser thread is this?

Op, tell us the image you are trying to attain and we can tell you if it's possible and how to achieve it.

Don't know if you've checked out the cars in the Gambler 500 this year. We will definitely have to up our wagon game to compete next year.

    I would genuinely enjoy a running/driving Justy.

I remember the old tan GL 4wd that was for sale locally when I was a kid. My Chevette had blown up and I wanted that car so bad..my old man wasn't having it though and I ended up in an 86 tan Ford Escort 4 door 4 speed shitbox. Still wonder what could have been.

Anyway this is for sale at the local Subaru stealership. Looks fully restored. Instant mountain town cred.

On the way into work today in downtown Reno, I saw an orange VW Scirocco* with a rooftop tent, and about a foot of suspension lift. There's your mountain living/loving vehicle.

*I think - may have been a Dasher, but I'm pretty sure it was 2-door.

How is it that everyone knew a guy in college with an Omni?

I skipped orientation so maybe I missed when they give one away to some lucky freshman each year.

What car to buy for mountain living?

lol... In this particular instance, my friend's mom was the original owner, and the car had fallen apart just enough - but not too much - to send a kid off to college in it. Considering how craptastic that thing was the day it rolled off the line, that was probably a fairly narrow window of time.

This is the color scheme (and technically, it was the Plymouth version of the same car).
