    Mobile dropper?

Could be impossible, but thought I'd ask...

Has anyone tried sharing a dropper post between bikes?

I'm not sure how difficult the process would be, but am thinking I'd love to try the KS Lev from my Reign on the old hardtail every now and again.

If I had duplicate switch and lines installed, could I swap the post between two bikes without draining and refilling the whole system(s) every time?

I'm thinking maybe a clamp (or gravity?) could allow an easy swap / bleed / ride situation and let me drop it on both bikes without buying another post..

    Isn't the Lev cable actuated?

If so, shouldn't be too difficult/time consuming. Especially if you had the 2nd bike ready to go with a remote/cable setup. Hell, if yours is the external version, no need to even have a 2nd remote setup.

    Zip tie on/zip tie off.

Much as I love my Reverbs, this'd be a pain in the ass. You'd still have to bleed things every couple swaps.

Something with a simple cable connection, or an external routed post would be way easier swapping back and forth, IMO.

Plus, he said he already has the Lev.

The whole draining refilling the system idea is off base. This is about a cable and housing. No fluids.

You can buy the extra setup piecemeal. It'd be the special shark fin cable end cap thing, the ball point pen spring, the forky hooky thing and whichever cable release you like. Can source parts at Art's or Universal Cycles.
If you run a SouthPaw, you'll save some money because you'll already have the original trigger.

But ...... you need the same size seat tube. And the same seatpost clamp to seat rails length +/- 50mm).

And....... if you're also occasionally running the HT with a rigid post, that fucking cable and trigger will be flopping around and making a bunch of noise.
However many are in a shit ton.

What Dee said. Get an eTen for the hardtail and call it good.

The Joplin was available with a lever underneath the saddle to trigger the mechanism. So there's that option...

    (and totally reliable too!)

Well, yeah, I'd agree, but it sounded like he was trying to do it on the cheap.

Cable.. not hydro. My mistake, that will actually make this little project much easier!

Still not sure how practical it is, but I plan to screw around in the garage over the next few evenings and find out. (FKN Rain..)

    Thanks

Magura makes a wireless e-dropper that's easy to swap. I have one and it's pretty fiddly, needs a simpler interface.

You could easily do this with a Fox Transfer dropper. You'd need one seat post and 2 levers. The cable attaches to the Fox post by simply pulling the post out of the frame enough to detach the cable using zero tools. It would take less than a couple minutes as long as you had a lever, cable and housing already attached to each bike.

This is assuming both bikes have internal routing. But that's nothing a drill won't fix.

    Just look at Jenson:
    KS ETen Remote - $116
    KS Eten Integra - $135
KS Crux Integra - $159 - on sale form $289.
Once you look at $35 for a remote and and a then a cable and then the hassle of the swap. Just buy a new post.
