The FS guy said, "we don't care what you do with it after it is taken to your house, and we are glad to see it (beetle kill) gone." Not many years ago, maybe 5 or 6, the FS was strict on getting commercial permits if you had any intention to sell it.
Yeah, and those spruce will take much longer to come down than the lodgepole. Mixed with the burn scar, it's an area that has changed dramatically in 5 years. Still beautiful country.

That fire may have made some interesting ski terrain, there's a few spots on the east side of the hill that are intriguing in google earth and are reasonably accessible. Maybe this summer I'll check them out.

Is this recent? I was just at a party a few weeks ago in pagosa and one of the guys there was trying to unload a lot. He said it back to National Forest and was in the fifties... was an intriguing offer but didn't jump while still researching but maybe too late now

Hard to say who won. Turned around a couple hundred feet below the summit to ensure my corn harvest would be sunlit, but got soaked on the exit. Views were good before the clouds rolled in:

Wonder if ABasin will reopen Pali?
Gonna be an epic shitshow no matter what. Might be quicker to skin up than wait in line.

....and closed! I'm on my way to pick up a man lift for a big 2 month project. It will probably sit until Monday at $250/day. Good think it is in the bid. I don't know why management companies let me write the contract. "No responsible for water damage due to weather", no start date, no completion date, front loaded payments, "contractor has the right to work in the most efficient manner possible", I get paid to shovel etc.

24" in less than 12 hr. Time lapse shows 3-4"/hr at times. Is this really mid May?

It's now over half the clock. Insane. Watching the timelapse is pretty cool.

How wet/heavy is it up there?
