Probably because KSL is an actual bag of dicks.

They don't mind people parking at Squaw. Probably hoping you spend money over there.

I have always felt welcomed at Squaw. I used to feel welcomed at Alpine.

He did say I could park at Squaw for Two nights, than I have to GO!
A friend was told to no longer stay on Friday and Saturday nights.

    The options are going away.
Digging out to the road at a SnoPark is just not feasible, eliminating storm days.

    I don't understand.
I take one parking spot in my little rig. I take one spot in my car.
    Where is the problem?

The snow should be softening soon. I'm off to find some creamed corn. The JJ's worked so well yesterday.

What? I dirtbagged two weekends and slept near Far East and used the bathroom to brush up, rise and shine. Just me, the Lab, and the Subie watching the sunrise before the bay area shitstorm commenced. Any employees around were generally friendly and even stoked to see me and the dog with such broad smiles.

Conditions are all time classic Sierra grade A corn right now. Last couple days the window as open all day after a delayed start due to hard freezes and moderate east winds. Today and it looks like the rest of the week will have marginal, freezes so should be going back to the 9-11 window.

MAKE TAHOE DEEP AGAIN ~ 2016/17 OFISHUL SNOW/FOOD/WHINE & STOKE THREAD

Went out to Carson Pass on Sunday with intention of Crescent Moon, looked great on skin in, all smooth and full. Ended up talking to a hiker that had hiked up climbers left chute and said the snow was very strange so we decided to head up the chute and assess as we approached, at about 11 the apron was still quite firm so we skied down to Winemmuca lake then up to lookers left of round top, snow up there was a little overcooked corn but very fun.

Snow pack - holy shit, I had not been to Carson all season, even the south side was full.

Very different experience on echo pk this am compared to the pass the last few days. Yeah it didn't freeze well last night and there's been an inversion goin on but I think it's more a factor of location. Other reports correlate my obs of an undermind snowpack and a weak layer on lake level lines. Some cornice collapses are causing step down crowns. As early as 9 am today we found we found skin track collapses, huge rotten holes underneath a superficial freeze of top 3", and nowhere near the quality goin on at cp.
Temps only getting warmer this week so situation only gonna get worse so headsup

Y'all best hop on your corn harvester asap and reap now. Spring in full swing with a respectable cut-off low wandering down. Cool temps, widespread precip and possible thunderstorms heading our way by the weekend. #weatherwest

^ Not saying it won't rain this weekend but if you're getting your weather forecasts from weatherwest you are going to be sorely disappointed in the longrun. Daniel is a climatologist running a meteorology blog. He forecasted noah's ark flood conditions all fall going into last winter (and maintained that forecast deep into the winter when ever single data point suggested something else), then predicted a return to dustbowl-like drought this fall into the wettest winter in history. And that's nothing compared to the idiots posting in the comments thread on his blog.

For what it's worth, Mark Sponsler's stormsurf (http://www.stormsurf.com/) weekly forecast has hit the nail directly on the head consistently week after week in the 3 years I've been following it.

^^^^the surf report? He tends to over forecast snow fall a bit tho

5 yr old in tow. Makes it hard with out lifts. I might get a day or even a weekend solo between now and mid June, but not likely. Come late June I'll be able to get out some. Hoping east side stays fat. But for coastal dads like me, I need the lifts. OTOH, the surf is not complete shit.

Yeah, the surf report. If you watch his weekly videos he goes deep into ocean oscillations, teleconnections, etc. That is what drives the weather on the coast.

Weatherwest's forecasts are based almost entirely on statistics. He also tends to hyperbolize.

Great weekend at Rose. Saturday stayed cool that the groomed skied well all day. Rose had a free beer and wine event on the hill, so Northwest chair ran till 5:30 and it was good till the end.

Sunday the Chutes were in prime condition with the warmer temps. Coverage is amazing for this time of year and they are skiing more like bowls. Fuse, Detonator and Dragon Lady in the center of the pic were all smooth, corned up and super fun. Sitting in a meeting at work right now, zoned out, bored and can't wait for the weekend.
