Several inches overnight in Truckee... perfect snow if you'd like to get into a snow-ball fight.

Are those good on kids tickets? Is it 50% off ticket window price or can you use it online?

I'll likely take my son to the Heave next weekend and would love to save money. My tix will be paid by Peak Points from spending so much cash on ski school last year.

Snow is actually pretty nice up top at Northstar. Light enough for face shots anyway.

It was also good for skiing at Sugar Bowl. But why is Disney--both sides--nothing but traverse lines wall to wall top to bottom? Still, managed to find fresh turns on every run until back gave out, which doesn't take long these days.

Everything except headwall & silvy today at squaw & nobody there. KT popped at 9, granite around 11 and there were no lines all day. Nuff said.

I bailed because around 7:15 or so the wind sensor was still showing gusts around 80-90 mph, so figured the upper mountain wouldn't open. Sounds like you scored. Northstar was a ghost town as well.

I hear that in 1922 KSL kept Squaw kept the upper mountain closed all winter.

well, luck finally caught up with me and I got fully skunked by the Carson Spur today. Rolled up about 8am and ended up waiting about 4+ hours for it to open but it never did, so I turned around and drove home.

Since when does 10 inches close the Spur all day? Should've gone around but just kept thinking it would open..

I know it's not Kirkwood's fault but I've kind of had it with the bullshit this year and am thinking about changing allegiance to Squaw or Sugarbowl or Sierra or maybe Bear..

Maybe you've got some wires crossed mate, or have missed a few things in the thread this season?

Bear ... Highway 4 is hardly an issue, no one complains about how they are treated, but seems like a risk during drought years.
Sierra ... Oy, Highway 50 traffic has been especially rough this year, but at least once you're down to Horsetail falls the drive home is generally easy peasy, however Sierra also can be rough in drought years.
Sugar Bowl ... closest resort on 80, high elevation, Old Donner Pass Road backups pale in comparison to 89 backups, no one complains about soul ...

As long as you can handle the short vert to flat runout, which really isn't all that much different than KW ... I think you have a winner.

I know, with pow in the forecast though and Squaw having the spring pass deal + a late close it's pretty tempting. I would probably regret it next winter.. I have the same thoughts re: SugarBowl. Always liked that place.

West shore was also a ghost town. Literally the only car all day parked at Hidden/Bliss/9269 parking area. Crazy.
You mean Summit and Scott actually opened with wind??! I guess it makes sense for KSL. "Hey, no one's here. Let's run lifts and open shit we normally wouldn't because we're so gay like that!"

    Enjoy tomorrow, I'm golfing...lololol!

The Vailwood crew must have come by to ski. Perhaps my biggest complaint of the Epic Pass, is how many damn traverses we have. As in the entire face is a traverse line.

MAKE TAHOE DEEP AGAIN ~ 2016/17 OFISHUL SNOW/FOOD/WHINE & STOKE THREAD

So word is Alpine Meadows will only be open every day until April 30, then two more weekends in May and closing on May 14. Ugh. It's so much better in Spring conditions than Squaw. Not as bad as Kirkwood's early close but that's not saying much.
