BV was very nice today, despite the morning of snain. By about 2:30 it actually started to snow and there was 2 inches of fresh by closing. However, I have never seen such utter nonsense in the parking lots. As near as I could tell the line was backed up through the entire parking lot and back down 207 (unclear exactly why, but probably a combination of narrow lanes, people trying to pay for preferred parking, and lots of people dropping gear). It was already insane with people sliding on 207 when several complete and utter idiots decided that trying to pass the long line of cars was a good idea. Apparently an accident shut down 4 for a while as well. My trip home was further marred by having to follow a minivan with chains at 20 mph the whole way down the hill. It's hard to believe that any amount of good skiing is worth the complete shitshow that is inevitable if it snows on president's day weekend.

Hey Mike! I'm in Kelowna BC until next spring getting my masters. I can't believe the season I'm missing ! Looking to head back to the Sierras this June/july for some backcountry skiing with dad, maybe I'll catch then.

Bear report: Skied great yesterday. The run outs to PE chair got sticky about 1:30-2. They groomed snow valley which was great on and off piste in the afternoon. Spring skiing at it's finest! Get after it Cencal folks, only 4 weeks left!

Edit: made a last min trip and used the voucher today. Snow was already heavy with lots of pinwheels by 10am on the village side. Grizzly laps did not suck.

BV on wind hold. I'm going to hit DR for a couple hours later. Wind is one good thing about DR being below the crest. We can usually keep our lifts turning when other areas are on hold.
