I trust that is right. Guess I've been skiing sign Chute.

Between Sentinel bowl and Big Jims is another cliff band. Right now it is about three feet of rock to snow. Often it is bigger. I've been calling this Little Jim's Cliffs, as Little Jims fill in usually, and is currently a mini face.

Been hitting LJC a lot this year, as my son likes to ski in under via the bowl and scream "jump it, jump it!" No matter the conditions. Luckily it has a steep landing.

Kirkweed: Guide to the mellow and chill lines. Would be an excellent guide book. Give t out for free to Epic Pass holders, explain the nuances of a traverse and skiing fall line, getting them to such epic powder stashed such as Rabbit Trees, Devil's Draw, Nose Shoulder and other Epic* runs without fucking up the fall line skiing experience.

It is especially rough this year with it being so filled in. I literally saw travers lines across the Temple a few weeks ago. People will traverse anything. Speaking of the above Sentinel Road lines, Little Jims is filled with traverse lines. shame. Looking at LBD pics from '09, having less snow often improves tracked out surface conditions.

The best powder stashes at Squaw aren't in that book at all.
I don't believe there are any powder stashes in that book.

I thought Patrolmans was the one just skiers right of Ski School as well.

I guess Kirkwood got the short end with only 2" reported compared to 7" at Squaw. Super fun day though as things were smooth and buffed out if you went to the right spots and it stayed fairly cold and cloudy. Soul Searcher and Treeman's were the highlights for me. I was stoked it was soft enough to hit those again today after my first time on Saturday. I've been waiting a few years to ski those.

You don't get it about Squallywood. The people who actually ski those lines don't need a book to find them--nor does anyone else--the great majority are in plain view of one lift or another. The whole point of the book is recognition, bragging rights, acclaim--high hero points. With book in hand the admiring masses can appreciate the skill and daring of those who fling themselves off cliffs and down straightline chutes. Without the book it's like you showed up for a date in a tux and carrying flowers AND a box of candy, rang the doorbell, and no one answered. (Do people still go on dates?)

Certainly they don't show up at the doorbell dressed like that with a box of candy.

MAKE TAHOE DEEP AGAIN ~ 2016/17 OFISHUL SNOW/FOOD/WHINE & STOKE THREAD

Summit was closed today??? All ridge lifts at squaw were turning.

Anyone know what the passholder friends/family discount is for kid tickets at squaw? Can't find a percentage anywhere and full price for an 11 yr old is criminal

I saw you do that--very impressive.
I didn't think it was that windy--I went out Hi T--but it was explained to me that with the wind coming from that direction (ENE) the chairs on Summit won't go through the top terminal after they ungrip from the cable.

It was a little spooky being alone way out on Hi T yesterday morning with no tracks except patrol's from the day before and not another human being in sight. Guess I am getting old.

Those moments are one of the reasons I love Alpine. Every now and then there are times I forget I'm at a resort there.

A lot of those lines are going off this year. A local Mom showed me a instagram of her son in Pony Express, the other day. We are talking a no joke don't mess up kind of line, that is only skiable every so often. I just laughed and patted her on the back, she knows the deal, big skiing family.
