Meh...I take that back... Looking at some other angles of the Tipo 33, I STILL like the Ferrari 330 P4 better. Sorry Mr. Scaglione.

Tribute Edition or not, still a breathtakingly gorgeous and sensual car. Anyone lucky enough to drive one has my sincere envy.

    More P4 pornography

Note...this must be another "Tribute" vehicle, though, as no racing P4 would ever have a spare tire!!!

EDIT: It IS a tribute vehicle.... The 4 million dollar P4/P5.

There is only one real P4.

Welp... 911R is no longer worth 500-600k.

I was literally shopping cars yesterday, and a guy did not take my offer of 470. I imagine I will hear back from him today.

I understand the reason for the 911R, I just don't agree with it. Sure, a row-your-own is great, but the PDK is so damn good now, I don't see the need for a three pedal if you want to be fast. So for the GT3 to have a manual doesn't make that much sense as it's meant to be a track car. The P Car purists will likely change their tune when the other dentists, doctors and hedge fund managers start passing them in their flappy-paddle gear boxed cars.

Disclaimer: I own a P Car with three pedals.

All the 9A1 GT cars should fall given that new GT motors will be RSR derived blocks designed towards durability. I can't believe why anyone would pay over msrp for an RS that's gonna need 4 engines to get to 100k.

@bobcat, Actually maximizing those cars is beyond the scope of almost everyone. A good driver in a 964 can put pressure on a 991. It's not really about 0-60 launch discrepancies in the recreational stuff.

I know. But if you're a hack on the track, eliminating blip-shifting and all that goes with it can help make you faster, or so it would seem with a flappy-paddle gear box. Kind of like of like 'lectircs in motorbikes; get the riders going faster with the help of technology.

As someone who enjoys driving for recreation only, #1 on my list is nailing the heel-toe downshift and accelerating out of the corner. Take that away, and I might as well be playing forza. Don't give a shit about lap times, top speed, etc... Just give me a tight car with a nice pedal set up, firm brakes, light throttle, and good 2-3-4 ratios (and no radiator) and I'm all set...

Porsche thought the same thing too, and then 911R sold for over double MSRP.

Your thinking is a little off. GT3 RS will never likely be manual again, or NA in my opinion. As that is the track car.

R could be reintroduced as more of a purist trim, for all the cars.

I'm confused, then. I thought the GT3 was to have a manual. Did I mis-read that?

It will. You said that it should be PDK only, because it is a track car.

I see the GT3 as more of an enthusiasts 911, and the GT3 RS as their track monster variant.

I've been foolishly looking at a 911 for my mid-life crisis, and have been stuck on the GTS.

Wouldn't that be double dipping or a bit of over lap with the 911R?

Not if the R continues in the new-old-911 vein, and the GT3 keeps the new-new-911, that you can track and still drive on a street without losing a filling.

^ I really liked the hood mounted cap the first couple of times, but putting it on every car has worn it out. That car would look better without it. Kinda looks like a clown nose on the Mona Lisa.

That's the only quick way I can tell a Singer and a nice vintage original apart.

No, but if she was wearing a clown nose, I'd tell her to take it off.
