On KLM or Air France flights operated by Delta, what are the baggage limits and rules ?
Does Delta enforce their rules (which means extra fees) or AF/KLM (which means no extra fees)?

    How abundantly clear!

I finally got through to KLM/AF/Delta/Flying Blue and they told me that there is a 1 checked bag limit (no fees) for international flights.
Of course, if the flight goes from Seattle to JFK on the way to Paris I'm assuming that's an international flight.

If the whole itinerary is booked on Delta metal, you'll probably play by Delta rules/fees even if your ticket says AF.

But if you are flying Delta metal then AF all booked under AF codes, you'll get the more generous allowance of the international AF flight.

It's marketed and booked by KLM/AirFrance. Under $600 now rt SeaTac to CDG.

As you are looking, look at LYS instead of CDG... I found it for a $20 dollars more than CDG but saves big time for getting to the hills (maybe not if you have a direct, for me it was one stop either way). Don't know if the pricing is still that way.

But if that is a direct on DL metal or your first leg is on DL you'll go to the DL counter to check in and that gets you your one free checked bag. If think AF is the same allowance unless you are going above the economy fare class, so this is moot, yes? 1 free checked bag (and DL will give you the international allowance)

If you have Silver Medallion and are checking in at Delta, I bet you can schmooze your second bag free no matter what marketing carrier sold you the tix (but it might not be true if your check in at AF/KLM counter on the return). If you are above Gold or above then you have SkyTeam status which applies to AF/KLM and should get two free bags no questions asked.

Depends on the month. In April and May you can go seattle to zurich for $507 on KLM.

Due to so much code sharing I was once in the same situation as you. I now book using Delta #'s because one time I had to pay the fees to KLM at some layover. It's why I also ended up buying a double ski bag, so I could fit my boots in there, so there'd be one under 50 pound bag. Seeing as you have no layovers, that won't be an issue, but as I understand it, you abide by the rules of the main carrier, which sounds like KLM in your case.

You're willing to risk losing your boots along with your skis to avoid a baggage fee?
